This could be expensive! Was driving to work as normal, but went to accelerate onto a roundabout and something went bang... and then made a grinding noise for a second or two and the engine cut out and wouldnt start again - although the starter motor wasnt doing anything, so not necessarily that bad a sign. Pulled over, and my first thought was snapped propshaft, or maybe a shafted diff... however, quick look under the car and nothing appears to be hanging off, but there was now an oil leak from the engine. In the 45 mins it took for RAC to come, it leaked all the oil out :( its with a garage now awaiting diagnostics, but anyone any ideas? There was no smok…

My brakes are squeaking really bad at the moment. Been getting progressively worse over the last month. The pads have only covered 3000 miles but were nothing special as was stuck at short notice when getting them done. I'd ordered a set for a z31!! Will fitting new pads cure this or is it something more sinister?

I have a U.K. 300zxtt. The autobox is on the way out. Must it be replaced with a UK autobox or will an import box do? Is there any difference?

As always, some of the best deals on ebay aren't even listed in the right place! I was looking for rear lights and spotted a tiny part of a spoiler on the car which I had a hunkering was the bomex aero type 2 I was going to buy for 700 quid 2 months ago. I emailed the guy and asked if he'd sell up and if so, how much he wanted, he said 50 bucks!!! I was like, I'll take it, and ended up sending him 80 pounds. Then got a pic of the below - it's the right one.. Utterly delighted, check it out - it's 'winging' its way up to me now :wub:

Was a bit gutted that my car barely stroked even with a boosted up Sapphire Cossie the other week, so fancy upping the anti a little. Im running stock block, turbos, intercoolers, injectors, boost jets (0.9mm and no idea of the boost level tbh, but I can feel the turbos loosing puff around 6k revs). Car feels fast but I wouldnt mind a bit more response and a bit more top end grunt. I havent seen any 700 quid HKS GT2530 kits around for a while (mores the pity) so what can I do on a relative budget? Was thinking EBC set to 17psi (though who knows that could be a little less than I'm currently running, maybe a bit more) but can't see that making a big difference. …

Trying to work out how much of a drop my car has had. I have measured from the ground to the top of the arch and my measurements are; Front 645mm Rear 635mm So is there anyone running standard wheels, tyres, suspension that could take the same measurement for me please? :cool3: Interested for my own records but also to assist another thread. It looks like I may need some ... I don't want anything flash, or to pay a fortune, but obviously want them to be safe ! The wheel nut "tunnel" is 28mm diameter, if that is relevant ? Any recommendations or link to known good ones would be appreciated :)

What started out as a small hole on my inner sill ended up as a bit of a mission!!! 5 hours later and i have a soild sill again so much for a quick patch! Now i have 3 more SMALL HOLES to tackle! But i wont be beaten and i wont be breaking it! bit of filler and a lick of paint today and we should be good as new! :thumbup1:

After loosing my job at the end of Feb it has become apparent i can no longer afford to run my zed. The fuel cost is too much and the £180 a month insurance is crippling :( I'll keep the zed off the road intill i find a new job, but my fears are, with a £200 a month loan repayment i will have to sell her if i dont get a job within the next 3 months :( Very sad times

Following on from Del's rust thread I thought I'd share some pictures of mine. Rust started appearing quite bad on the arches of my Z last year, thats the point where I decided to give it a quick fix up and a DIY respray to freshen it up for what would potentially be its final year. Ok I am going to put some TEIN SS on her in some weeks; but there is some doubts I have; first; how much height originally the Z had? I looked at some especifications and it states; 1255mm (1,25m) a friend of mine has his lowered to 1,19m and he sid it is really slammed like this; my question is...wich is the lowest I can slamm it without touching the floor and bumps on the road to make it look more slammed and aggresive?

ive got a problem with my zx since i bought it the spedo is well out spedo reads 22mph=30mpg 45mph=70mp and worse of all when i first got the car i though my god 70ish feals rather fast in this car 75mph=116mph

If I fitted this to the zed how could I keep it cool?:scared:

Hi all, The Zed's brake master cylinder is leaking, not from the servo end, but from a small aperture which is set between the brake pipe outlets (facing the engine). There appears to be a small hole at the inner end of the opening and that is where the brake fluid is leaking from. Any ideas on what this opening is or what it's purpose is? :confused1: Is it repairable? :confused::confused: Regards - Andy

Hi, right Iam keeping the Zed, my mate decided to buy something else and to be honest Iam happy:-) didnt really want to get rid anyway. Going to get the clutch sorted in the next couple of weeks then a guy is coing to look at my rear arches and sills, and what ever else needs doing, just abit worried about the cost of welding as I dont think it will cheap lol. Is going to take a little while to get it how I want it but it will be worth it. got the bumper of to get it up the ramps, which was a little **** so not looking forward to doing the clutch now lol. Evening all, I'm about to install some rubber bushes and when getting the bits together I found some sachets of copper grease in an old pack with poly bushes for another part of the car...question is - do I need to grease the rubber bushes, and if the answer is yes, then am I OK to use the grease which was intented for use on poly bushes? ive got a clicking noise on my gear box, sometimes when i press the brake the z seems to want to switch off for some reason, but the clicking noise i can hear near the auto gearbox any help appreciated..
