  1. with a standard clutch? when my Z has its engine swap soon it'll be about 350bhp, I've been offered a lightweight flywheel at a reasonable price but probably can't afford a brand new paddle clutch until a few months after the transplant. Would this be ok, and would I see the benefits from a lightweight flywheel? p.s. I'm not fussed about taking the gearbox back out later in the year to upgrade the clutch. :red_indian:

  2. This is baffling me (especially with my limited knowledge of mechanics). At all different speeds I am getting quite a severe shudder through the steering wheel. The lowest speed I have experienced it is 29mph and the highest at around 80mph. To give you some background I have already replaced the following with poly bushes... Tension Rod Bushes Steering Rack Bushes (which was fun!) Anti-Roll Bar Bushes I am also running brand new alloys with brand new Falken's all fully balanced. I also think that the tracking is OK as my previous set of tyres had very even wear. Disks and pads look fine and all other bushes (as far as I can tell) look fine. I can not…

I think it,s quite common for the covering to peel off the inside of the targas and mine were terrible so i thought i,d re cover them. I removed the end caps and handle surround , the covering just about fell off !! i used a wire brush in as drill which removed the remains of the foam and glue as well , cut a bit of trimming vinyl to size , sprayed both with contact adhesive and once touch dry put the covering on , trimmed it up , glued the end caps back on and jobs a good un , looks as good as new .

I bought a new trim and took a deep breath and started cutting it about, after doing a trial on an old broken trim to see if it would work ! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=148783 Found another light which was longer than the one i did the trial with so it would fit better , removed the outer shell and trimmed it down to size . Cut out most of the original one and carefully removed the red lens inside A bit of trimming and in it went Looks alot more modern when lit and when it,s not it,s now clear instead of having the red lens showing through :hyper:

Hi, I know Halfords is a bit expensive and dont stock much if anything for our cars (could'nt even get a headlight bulb or oil filter) but i needed to do a bit of bodywork touching up and they mixed some paint up for me (Colbalt green pearl metalic) and it was absolutly spot on, came out much better than expected, well pleased.

i have a V8 5.5 ML AMG and one side of the exhaust is blowing in the middle , so i was thinking of getting a dual 3" system but keeping the AMG oval back boxes but doing away with the cats, come MOt time in 10 months i will just switch it over to LPG and was wondering if the emissions woud be ok without the cats on LPG .....i have the option of fitting a spool piece and bolting the cats back in for MOt time if i need to .....are there any other things to consider ...i.e would the cat temp sensors need removing .....would it confuse the ECU etc etc steve

My Z started clicking at the front end when turning left, but now thats developed into both left and right. If the car is still and I turn it doesn't do it, but when the car is moving and turning at the same time it clicks like a bitch. :cursing: I've jacked it up and had a look underneath, no cornflake packets in the wheels lol, only thing I can find that looks like a problem is the right hand inner steering rack gaitor has leaked all its grease out. Could this be the problem and what do you think is causing the clicking?! :crying: thankZ :helpsmilie:

I have been grinding back the rust in the boot area of the car and basically I need to cut out and reweld. Its not to bad and needs 30mm deep strip with a 10mm lip welded across the back. Anyone able to help or have a contact who can come to Pontypool? If I can't get it welded by the end of next week the car won't make Japfest

Right fitted some larger IC's a while ago and the standard washer bottle does not fit. I have fitted a smaller one to go in its place but it only has 1 pump for the front screen wash/wipe. Question is as my car still has the rear wiper does the water/washer not working mean it will fail it's MOT? thanks

  25. Thought I'd share this site with you http://www.j-garage.com/profile.htm. I was googling to try and find some specific parts and fired off a few emails to places I found in Japan. This guy was very helpful. Haven't bought anything off him yet but can't fault the speed of his responses and his English is way better than my Japanese! Hopefully it will help people looking for stuff in Japan (eg like this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=149627) Cheers
