hi, due to a baby on the way it looks like i might have to do the unthinkable and get rid of my zed, its a 93 lwb import tt manual, 80,000 miles, imported in 2006, when i bought it i was told it had a performance ecu and the injectors had been upgraded, single exit exhaust pipe, is also has some sort of induction kit on (greddy i think) 18'' alloys with good tyres, targa roof, interiors in really good condition, the prob is its been parked up for the last few months so theres no tax or test on it, its also been painted in matt black (not everyones cup of tea) and has a littlepatch of rust on the back pass arch, hasnt gone all the way thru just on the outer skin, engine ha…

My garage has got the gearbox in a few pieces(!!) to recondition it. The Nissan dealers are denying any knowledge of 300zx parts which presents a bit of a problem... Anyone got a sensible source of gearbox parts - preferably OEM but otherwise aftermarket would be fine. I've found Drivetrain.com in the US who seem to offer a full rebuild kit are there any others in the UK (or even the US)? Car is a '91 J spec TT 2+2 . Many thanks.

Hi all, Ive got round to fitting my alloys and noticed that the Brembo calipers are about 2-3mm from the spokes. Will this be a problem? Ive ssen calipers really close to alloys before but ive been told the calipers will expand when hot but by how much? Cheers Dan

Hi, OK, I’m getting a crunch when changing down from 5th to 4th , this only started a couple of days ago. It’s on the motorway and after being in 5th for a bit (particularly after being under load) if I try to gear down it crunches, I’ve tried other gears straight from 5th (obviously going slow enough to use them) but it’s the same thing. I’m assuming it’s the selectors and that they aren’t quite working correctly. I’ve booked it in to have the gearbox oil checked and toped up (possibly with MT-90). Has anyone else had the same issue? My search found a few other “crunch” problems but nothing exactly the same as mine. Cheers.

Hi guys my 300 has been off the road for 18 months and during this time fitted a new speed sensor as mine was knackard seized up solid (No pas or speedo). I have now got it road legal again pas seemed to work but still no speedo, And after just 80 miles the pas seems to work intermitantly or not at all. Seems to work fine when first started? Car wants to stall sometimes too when stopping from speed any help would be greatly received.:hammer:

Why do people make the schoolboy error of getting a second hand engine fitted, instead of getting theirs rebuilt! eg. the bottom end needs a rebuild, so i will drop an old secondhand Z engine in that i have no idea about its history and think that all my problems are solved forever! whats the difference in price? :tongue_smilie:

Hi all! I said hello to you all sunday evening. Thank you for the warm welcome! Sorry about this thread, and although it may be covered elsewhere i just want to run it by you and see what you all think. I hope you dont mind. I bought my z on friday, she has a high idle problem. She is ticking over at 2000 rpm. I believe it is the idle air control valve because....... we unplugged it today and the revs dropped to around 800 and stopped there and stayed steady. We then plugged it back in and they shot back up to around the 2000 mark. We have taken it off cleaned it put it back on and the problem still remains! Obviously due to the high idle selecting drive in the ge…

Hi guys , I thought i would ask on here first before a mini forum.. My girlfriend has a newish Mini cooper (56 plate)and for her birthday soon i want to buy her an i-pod and a connection kit my question is...... the mini has a 3.5mm jack port so i assume the sound will come through the speakers but i cant see it being able to control the ipod, I have been told that this model of Mini is wired using fibre optic cables and will need a converter box that costs about £300 to be able to use the ipod and all the functions on the dash? does anyone know anything about this system or anyway of not using the converter box?
