  1. Started by Big Rod,

I ask because for a wee while now I seem to have been chasing coolant leaks around the car, culminating last night in the heater matrix letting go. There's no water in the oil and so far as I can tell, no oil in the water and while the top rad pipe gets a bit 'firm' after a drive I don't 'think' it's unduly pressurised. So, am I potentially looking at a blown cylinder head gasket?

My breaker had the cats cut off the front pipes I believe, as the rest of the system was sleeved on just before the angle where they head outwards before going up to the turbos (if that makes sense) So my next question is, my black NA has nearly new japspeed decat downpipes on, just seen some on ebay that say they fit NA and TT... So will these fit when I have my TT engine in, ready for a new system to bolt up to it? thankZ :sweatdrop:

I've stripped down under the steering wheel to give me access but it's fouling on a loom. I've tried it all ways and can't get it to fit on to the clutch booster :cursing: I can't see how the loom can be moved, so what am I doing wrong? Help it's really doing my head in:helpsmilie:

I did a few searches on this and couldn't find anything recent so hope I don't get flamed for asking again. (If I missed a recent relevant thread which answered all this, flame away :D ). Does anyone here have any experience with these products which claim to protect your paintwork? Apart from the traditional waxes, there appear to be two alternatives: some form of sealant like Supagard or Diamond Brite (I did find one thread which said don't bother with Supagard). Or there is an external film. I've used something similar on my HTC phone and it has survived really well for 18 months so maybe the car version has something going for it? http://car-paint-prote…

  8. Hi, I have been looking at different options for brake kits & do not really want to spend the sort of costs of the K Sport / D2 kits as will only be using it on the road & have found a trader doing Wilwood calipers with Brembo discs & fittings who is a trader on SXOC He has a range of options of brake upgrades & has recently done a group buy on SXOC & can supply kits for the Z32 at a similar price if we can do a GB on here. Heres the thread on SXOC: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=489807 Any thoughts on if we can try to set this up?! :) Paul

Ok, I finally got around to painting my skin spoiler and I plan to attach it next weekend. I was planning to use Tiger Seal, or something like it, unless someone tells me otherwise? The things is the skin has a lip underneath, it looks like it should wrap around the bottom lip of the tailgate, covering the original rear right and left bolt holes. There isn't any give in the fibre glass, so not sure how I'm meant to do this. I've considered cutting this lip off, but really if I can get it wrapped around the tailgate it would look better and cover the bolt holes from the inside too, probably addding strength also. Has anyone fitted a skin, if so hows it done? …

Anybody know any suppliers for the protective plastic that goes round the engine loom? It would be a great help if anyone knows of a supplier and the size (diameter rather than length) for where it comes out of the firewall and along the side of the plenum and also for the part that goes up over the plenum. It doesn't need to be anything special just plain black - I've just got tape round mine at the moment which looks a mess and I'm also worrying about baking the insulation on the wires with the heat. Thanks in advance, James

Has anyone on here ever done a comprehensive list of all the pipework that is in the engine bay??? Like sizes and lengths that would be required if you were to change every hose. Water, oils, air, brake and clutch, power steering etc. Or maybe people that have done some and could add it on here to help create a list through posts. cheers Dave

Today I added a new skill to my skillset... Fitted a bonded windscreen. I am pleased to report that its relatively easy!! I just followed the advice given my my mate who supplies windscreens. I bought a tube of the correct sealant from him. Cleaned up the metal of old seal and also the screen. Did a trial position/fit and screwed a couple of self tappers on the bottom scuttle to take the weight while fitting/bonding. The canister of seal came with a notched nozzle to ensure a nice thick bead of sealant comes out when put in the gun. Did a bead all round. Then with help from a mate we lowered the glass on to the sealant using the self tappers to align and support t…

A new owner wanted a check over and depite a nice zed with a few choice parts it did throw up one odd fault, as shown in the pictures below the front anti roll bar bracket had fractured and released the bar fixings completely where it attached to the chassis rail on the drivers side. Not really a heart stopping moment but could make cornering slightly unpredictable, with more body roll than expected. The bar was removed and replaced as it seems to be bent out of shape at that end which points at the bracket having been broken for some time, maybe even the previous owner did not realise, DIY inspection is a real problem with these cars due to poor access without…

I'm looking at a z on ebay and it states its a TT but its got an N/A bumper, am I right in saying it will restrict airflow so should'nt be there. I've emailed him and he says its definately a TT. Sure plenty of you have read about leaking heater matrix and some of course had it happen on your own zeds, but understanding what it looks like in place and how it get you carpet wet is not always clear, so when I changed one last week thought I would take a picture to show it clearly, and this one is a bad one.
