Hi guys, just started to get to grips with my project, first thing get some fuel in it and let it run, problem is that the fuel flap won't open, the cable is snapped at the lever end, so it's gonna need a new cable a rethreading, but in the mean time canthe flap be opened from inside the boot? For those of you not on Facebook or who haven’t seen it, this is the new demo video. I’d love to see a Z like this in the flesh! Any fans? I would happily fit this wide arch kit keeping my 89 front end, type one spoiler and stick bonnet/nose panel. It would have to be smoothed in just like that one too.

Hi guys. I am in the process of restoring a 1991 UK spec 2+2 twin turbo 300zx and need a few bits and pieces, I wanted to see if you guys can help or point me in the right direction. I need a drivers side rear wheel arch and both of the 'sill return repair panels' and a new rear spoiler (the OEM 1991 type). I know Z-Centre have all these parts but they are not exactly cheap especially when you apply 20 %VAT to the marked price then delivery to Ireland. I was lucky enough to get two of the inner sill reinforcement panels off e-bay this week at reasonable money. I also need a few bits if people can help: Front LHS indicator/side light. Rear LHS bumper reflec…

Hi, hoping someone can help with this, as I don't fancy driving to the AGM this weekend with a fubard temp gauge. The other day i took the binnacle out to add a set of titanium rings to the instrument cluster. I noticed this morning on my drive to work that the temp gauge sits a 1/4, even when the car is switched off, and didn't move, during the 16 mile commute. Could it be that i just need to reset the needle to its resting point? Any pointers greatly received, thanks guys.

At the JCC car show yesterday I was talking to new owner John about his new imported TT when he tells me how his is slightly different to mine where the rear lights are concerned. I had a look to find an extra brake light fitted to a small spoiler under the bumper. This is something in all my years of 300zx indulgence I have never scene before. It looks very "factory fit" as if it was an option for the 300zx. So have any of you guys ever seen this before or share more light on it?

Just back from an amazing day at Goodwood ! It’s a truly fantastic day out with something for everyone whatever you’re in to. I parked in general parking in my 300 ( hadn’t realised there was ‘performance parking’ or I’d have been in there) right next to a gorgeous ‘S’ plate Supra. There was every kind of car imaginable but sadly I never spotted another 300......did anyone else go in theirs ? Highlights included Daniel Ricardo doing the most amazing doughnuts in a late model Renault F1 car and also coming face to face with a Ferrari 250GTO ! Apparently it sold in 2012 for $35m and some were estimating it at $50m+ now. It was just sitting there no security o…

  12. Hi, I recently had a water leak from a small rubber hose just above the passenger side turbo.... I’ve been struggling to get at it for ages now. Have taken plenum off and I can now just about get my hands to the hose, but there’s no way I can get the clip off and get the hose out. Have tried everything! From the top and from below, but no luck! Bought extra long pliers... nope... ugh! I could get to it if I could remove the downpipe I’m sure, but how do I get to the bolts holding g it to the turbo? Or would it be easier to take the box out? Seems stupid to take it to bits so much for a weeny little hose! Anyone got any good how to’s for removing the …

I have 4x 18inch x 8.5 JJ rims all I want to use. What tyre sizes would make a good looking and practical enough setup on stock suspension without needing a back brace? Was thinking 255 width all round or 245 on fronts? What about depth? Suggestions? Any help appreciated.

Just plonked in the details of a zed I'm going to view tomorrow... WOW.... Very impressed with the quotes. Less than half what I pay for my little 1.4 fiesta run around. Anyone else find zeds remarkably cheap to insure?

On Friday 10 May I bought an autobox of a chap on eBay called Joshuajockey [60] He contacted me & said he can deliver it. He said I’ll cancel the eBay sale & pay him cash on delivery! (£250) When my mechanic came to fit it having checked it apparently it was u. s.! I’ve tried to contact him requesting a refund but as expected no response. That was last Tuesday. I don’t expect I will hear from him again!

  19. Started by Maduri,

So I've taken the Zed of the road again because it seems the OEM exhaust has aged like milk and now it's crumbling, falling to bits when touched and pretty much leaking all over the place pre-catback. Luckily I have a Longlife exhaust firm in my town (also have Powerflow but I don't fancy having the exhaust thrown together by some ned with daddy issues) which I'm going to see about a 3" straight through system from the turbo's back but my question is about certain hoses/pipes that seem to feed into the OEM exhaust front pipes at the sides.... what are they? I've searched high and low to find out what they are to the point where Google probably thinks I have an exhaust f…

Hi all F.Y.I While I have been putting my engine back together I noticed a few bits missing, degrading on the cam back plate, so I looked on google and this kit came up on EBay. I was not sure what I would receive, it turned up this morning and to my surprise it’s excellent, I now have the missing rubber seals, can do the oil filter tree, rear cam seal and sump at some other time.

I have just looked on my usual State side suppliers and noticed both are now listing the OEM TT A/C Condensor as NLA. Sad times indeed. As the car's age, it really is surprising how many people want luxury items working again. It will be a struggle now seeing as the condenser was one of the biggest culprits for gas loss. How many more parts losses can we as owners stand as these fantastic cars grow older

  23. Started by Peage,

I have an issue whereby my Aux fan comes on as soon as the engine is warm. I have tried a new coolant temp sensor as well as a brand new coolant temp sensor connector. I have also checked my main fan and this is working fine and has only had a new clutch fan fitted a few months ago. The temp gauge on the dash is reading normal, so it is not overheating.... Just seems like the ECU thinks it is? Is there anything else I can check?

  24. For the hardy types who still have hydraulic HICAS in their machines... Ocassionally on a run, the HICAS warning light came on and stayed on. Steering function remained normal and the fluid level was ok and on a re-start, after say five minutes, light operation returned to normal - for a while. Conzult provided no clues either. The HICAS sensor is basicaly a magnetically actuated reed switch which is located at the lower end of the tube attached to the bottom of the reservoir cap. The metallic sleeve at the centre of the float is a magnet, which if maintained above the level of the reed switch will not cause the reed contacts to close and consequently turn on the HIC…

I’m currently at Chris Karl’s place (ZSPEC) out in Ohio and these are going to be launched soon. Until recently, they’ve only sold US versions which have the key hole, these are now Euro/JDM compatible. I know Howard was after a set and AndrewG, well they’re soon to be released if anyone is interested - let me know.
