Sorry to keep everyone in suspense but I spoke to MRI today (the company I'm planning to use) and their 2001 brochure has been delayed. They assure me I will receive it next week. As soon as I do I'll post details on here and I'll be aiming to book up quickly. Will probably need £50 deposit per person - and, if it's the same as this year, prices will be based on two people per car. Dave

Something happened while I was driving home from work tonight that got me spooked! I was followed (it seems) from Barking north london through the Blackwall tunnel to south london by two blokes in a black BMW 3 series (85 shape). Now some of you may be thinking christ Trev get a grip, they may have been travelling the same way as you. Well I thought so too, but just in case I jumped a red light and pulled into a petrol station to fill up. The BMW passed the petrol station turned around and pulled up 100 yards or so down the road. After paying I thought right lets see if they follow. I left the petrol station and in the rear view saw the BMW slowly move off to follow and j…

Does NE1 know where I can purchase a reasonable set of front rotors. Something that is better than stock and not too expensive. I am currently using Green stuff pads on stock rotors and their more warped than Gary Glitter. Cheers, Andy

Seriously, how much could you afford on a UK track event. I looked into it and it would be at least 50/60quid with too many people. I'm wondering how many people can push the boat out to £100-130quid. This is for something like a half day test track event with 2 instructors. Obviously it's a bit wet now and we'd be looking at next spring. If there are not enough 300s, I'd invite the supra guys. What would you suggest the earlest date to risk booking it, to avoid the wet? As for now, I'm going to sort out a skid pan for the winter, I've been reccomended one and I'll be finding out details. I think it's in Bracknell and assume it's less than £100! Inter…

I was just reading one of my 300ZX books and saw a performance comparison between the 2+2TT as sold in Europe and the UK and the 2+0TT as sold in the U.S. Now I could never work out why the U.S cars could always pull better 1/4 mile times than our cars at the same stage of upgrade, but here is an answer! These times are based on stock cars and times in brackets are for U.S the 2+0TT. Max Speed 155mph (153mph) 0-30mph 2.1sec (2.0sec) 0-40mph 3.0sec (3.1sec) 0-50mph 4.4sec (4.2sec) 0-60mph 5.7sec (5.5sec) 0-70mph 7.7sec (7.2sec) 0-80mph 9.7sec (9.3sec) 0-90mph 11.9sec (11.6sec) 0-100mph 15.2sec (14.6sec) 0-110mph 18.7sec (18.0sec) 0-120mph 23…

Couple of Question on Test Pipes for you guys here: 1. Anyone found a reliable source of supplier for this country ? Yeah i know that DP were shit on the system that Mark got from them, anywhere else. 2. Anyone found Test pipes with the AIV plugs like the Stillen ones, or am i worthwhile just disabling them. 3.Do the American Test Pipes mate to the Stock Nissan Downpipes on the UK spec cars without the need to fabriacte , grind or hammer. Just thinkin at the time being, My Cats are looking a bit corroded and i would sooned have the nice unrestricted flow of proper test pipe, but i really dont wanna be paying 300 + for a set for the Stealin ones. …

What is the mph per 1000rpm in top on an auto? Mine shows about 2700 @80 and I thought manuals were geared about 25.6mph/1000 - according to the autocar road test from 89. So is it the rev counter or the speedo thats out or my arithmetic?

Whenever I select 1 or 2 on my auto tranny then shift up to D it stays stuck on whatever gear it was on! and in order for it to change up to D I have to move the selector to N then back down to D!?! The trans and torque converter are both a year old and were replaced by a Nissan dealer who says the warrenty lasts only 6 months even though the parts were new! Any ideas would be a great help. thanks, Trev.

If you open your door, about 2 thirds back on the sill is a welded seam. Mine has a hairline crack along it running round under the side of the car about an inch or two long. This is just the paint cracking right? Not the weld?! I have it on both sides of the car.

Which of the rear red lights should light up when the light switch is turned on...and which should come on when the brake is pressed? On my car only the outer lights seem to be lit, unless you touch the brakes...in which case they all light up. I was passed on the M40 earlier today by a UK spec car which had both lights lit at the rear,it set me wondering. JEZ300Z JEZ300Z

Hi All Just bought Shorty's Z and taken it to Scotland where I live and where Z's are rare. Been lurking on this site for months learning Z ery. Shorty's Z 's been half way to the moon 110k but is in great condition - even original turbos. I have a slight hop on NS rear over manholes and as the rear shocks have never been changed I strongly suspect they need to be. Any advice where to get them from greatfully accepted?

Bill, I've just bought my zx (UK 92 TT Manual) But the horn wasn't working took it back to East Sussex Motor Centre. the guys therte said they would have to get a auto sparky to check it out, and woul need to remove the nose cone to do the job! Whilst I was measuring up for driving lights tonite (sorry lights again...) I saw the horn just laying loose inside the spolier !!!! 10 minutes later after checking it worked against the battery, I fitted it back on, and hey presto it works fine ... How the hell it got through the MOT (just prior to me buying it) , and how this 'mechanic' didn't spot it is beyond me. They don't instill any confidence …

the stereo headunit! My antenna wire that connected into the original Bose headunit has a two pin type plug on the end with two wires running into it. The new headunit I have takes the normal one pin type plug. I've yet to find out where the second wire from the stock two pin plug goes so it's not as straight forward as cutting the plug off and fitting a single pin one. Any help?? Steve
