Morning all ... Have posted a copy of the 300zx workshop manual on a website for your perusal: http://300zx.proweb.net Unfortunatly, it's still in pdf format and some of the files are rather large (> 22meg) so will look into exporting it to html if there's enough interest. Thanks to Bob for the original copy. Xmas cheers Rich (Nottingham) P.S. Yippie It's snowing ... I need an empty carpark now !!

...Where's the best place to get a replacement, and how much should I pay? The Z32 engine seems to need a lot of juice to get going on these cold/damp mornings...and not using the car over Xmas seems to finally have taken it's toll. JEZ300Z

For the third bloody time ... I've just finished stripping down and rebuilding the drivers side seat belt, they are crap... the first time coincided with up rating and amp'ing the front speakers, I suspect causing a small nylon cog to spontaneously explode in the mechanism of both the drivers and passengers belts, luckily I had a couple of spare units from the scrappy... and to think I used to rate Seiko (the manufacturer of said units). I might have just been the cold but my Hicas light came on this morning for a minute, is there any where to lubricate or is it sealed. (I had to use my Z for work as the 18 month old Fiat didn't want to start). Thanks John

Oh my god, I'm sober and without hangover .. christmas must be over ... personally I can't wait to get back to work .... bar humbug.... On to more interesting things: I read an article somewhere about the car smelling of fuel just after startup from cold and can't find the article again which is unfortunate as mine 91TT has started to do just that. I've also noticed increased fuel consumption (250 mp/tank down to 200 mp/tank) and whilst my local fuelier now greats me with excessive glee, my bank manager's threatening to remove my left testicle.... so any assistance greatly appreciated. Having been away (from the forum) for a while, Nico, hows your turbo's ? …

Well I have found out why I have gone through a new set of rear tyres in 3 weeks. The alignment was 15 degrees out, so both wheels were pointing toward the middle of the car. This would explain all my handling problems especially in the alps. The Hicas wasn't working apparently but I think it is now although does anyone know how to check? As you have probably read I haven't had much luck in my month or so of ownership and just when I thought it was running right it started losing power at 70mph driving down the M6 on xmas eve so I kept the throttle down to keep the car going. I bought the 300 thinging it would be reliable but Iv'e spent well over a grand and something…

Can anyone help please. I have rercently purchased a new Blitz exhaust and have removed the cats from my jap tt, but the cat replacement pipes have not got holes for the exhaust sensors. What do I do with them, do I cut them off or just tuck them up out of the way, cause I understand they adjust the fuel mixture.

I tried to buy a cambelt today as my underdrive pulley has arived. The parts guy asked me if I was going to change it myself and broke out in a big grin when I said yes (filling me full of confidence) he quoted £57 then asked if it was a UK car, when I said it was a Jap car he would not commit himself to the belt being the right one so he jumped over the counter and went out and wrote all the numbers from my VIN plate down then told me he was going to e-mail Japan to find out if the belts are the same.I didnt bother to ask about the Hicas ball joints I wanted a price on cos he would have probably crawled under the car with a pair of mole grips or something to check it out.…

Having spent a fortune trying to cure the hesitation on my car I can't afford to buy a new exhaust system at the moment. Does anyone know where I could get hold of a second hand offside rear exhaust box as the pipe that goes upto it has a 3" hole?

Hi, I was having a good conversation with Paul Ripley racing about organising a day out involving Skidpan training (and various other sessions at Silverstone with our own cars). (With a budget of £100-£200 each). But, the * went on holiday and now they are less then helpful. ARSE. Anyhow, With all that aside, there is still the option for anyone that's interested to go for skidpan training. It's about £125 for 1.5hours and 3 people can be envolved at the same time. It's either in Kent's police training car or around Brands Hatch area. Personally, it doesn't sound so hot now and maybe an empty carpark is much more entertaining! Any ideas welcome. …

I suppose I should have known better than to get Nissan to repair (£300) a few light dots of rust around my rear wheel arches. Now its back and its setting in. (just over a year, not under warrenty) I guess the only cure is to cut it out and I assume that means new rear arches, either stock or modified. Or sell it. (maybe a little harsh)

Yesterday as I reversed out of my garage, I noticed the dreaded Hicas warning light 'ON'. Luckily it went out after a couple of hundred yards. However it might be a warning of things to come, (might be a bit of moisture in the wiring? he hopes). I know Stillen do a bar to illiminate the Hicas as I understand that a Hicas repair can be expensive. Does anyone have any experience of Hicas failures, repairs, or the Stillen Hicas illiminator kit? Cheers Bill
