Hi Guys, After reading about Williams car being stolen I thought I would ask about extra security on my 300. I've got a cat1 imobiliser/alarm fitted, should I have anything else eg. wheel lock etc. or is this enough. Cars parked on the road outside the house (just watch out for the buses) I don't want too go through the pain that being stolen would cause. Any suggestions? JW

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I was heading over to my parents last night in the countryside when both headlight bulbs blew. Total darkness at 60mph on fenland roads, Obe wan kenobi where are you? Managed to drive home with main beam. I don't know what caused it as I am running 100w bulbs and they are both blown, I have also lost my number plate lights but all the fuses are fine. Any ideas?

Sorry about the language. Bob has a good idea why I am going crazy. AnywayZ, a little bit of help and advice from you guys in the know. My next door neighbours are getting on a bit. Senile would be a good description. I was letting my motor cool down after a blast out this afternoon and the Arses started to rant and rave about the noise. Tooley ,Submarine, Mark and Bob already know what I`m talking about. Any comebacks, advice and tips would be much appreciated. Christ where`s my beer. Had to get it of my chest and I thought a bit of Z therapy would do the trick. ThankZ in anticipation. Johnny Boy.

OK guys, i know after Williams post about his car getting lifted it might be a bit late but if any of you are interested in getting your cars belled up with alarms give me a call. I am based in Chester but if there are a couple of you in one area that can get together i`ll travel to you. To give you an idea of prices, as a special i`ll do Insurance Approved systems with a motor in the drivers door to operate the central locking from the remote, i`ll throw in a free glass break detector and free fitting of a pager if you buy one for an all in price of £300.00. You may find someone who`ll do them for around the £325.00-£350.00 but you have peace of mind that i have do…

I am getting pretty good at removing the IAA valve and have got it down to 15mins however I think I may have sussed the problem. The plunger under the solenoid has a hole through it however I don't know which way the plunger needs to go as I assume the hole makes the idle valve work. Does anyone know which way the plunger needs to go?

I have just had my auto reconditioned. Cost £1500 but was a total rebuild. The company are excellent JR TRANSMISSIONS in Farnborough Hants. The local Nissan dealer sends all the Z's there. They even loan them the Breakout kits for fault diag's. When mine was there it was sitting next two ours luvely Z's. The problem was caused by the bush at the back of the box which can move forward and block the oil feed. Common with fault with Imports. The bush needs to be replaced by a solid bush, UK models were recalled to fix this apparently.

I've got to get my stereo sorted this year and basically wanted to know if anyone has some ideas. My main problem is that I don't really want to lose my boot. I was looking at making a box and using a Kicker 10" sub (made to fit in the area where the tools fit). The other problem is where to locate any amps????? Any help would really be apreciated. Thanks Vijay

Yesterday at a Little Chef on the A1 some low life broke into my Z smashing the Drivers Window and stole my laptop which was hidden behind the seat. No one could replace the glass and I was told Nissan have to order it from Japan. Anyone got any alternatives. Unlucky of Putney.

Does the ECU compensate so it runs the same on Super as standard Unleaded? I use my ZX a lot and the fuel prices are making my mod plans look like distant dreams. I heard that Jap fuel is higher octane than we can get here, is this true? I think I'll start drilling for oil in my back garden...

My import came with it fitted. What do I do with it?

I don't know what prices you all pay for insurance but my Jap import only cost me £950 through A-Plan's Specialist Vehicle Division at Thatcham. Policy is with Axa. Tel: 0845 0711234 Everyone else quoted me around £2500 and most wouldn't touch the import anyway! Maybe you guys know of someone cheaper but it seems like a massive diference to me.

Can I legally remove Cats on my '90 Jap ZX? I have heard that pre '91 cars don't require the Cats to pass the MOT. Is this the correct date? I have what I think is the standard Jap exhaust with single 3.5" (ish) tail pipes each side. Will I see any benefit from removing them? I have a Blitz/K&N type air filter fitted & intend to get an ECU upgrade eventually.

My Jap '90 TT Auto sometimes flashes the Power light when I turn the ignition. Is this a diagnostic code? It lights steady for approximately 2 seconds then flashes 16 times. Help much appreciated...
