I've found a place very local to me that will make a one piece propshaft. (okay Craig and Andy, actually Darren found it) While my z is sitting on the workshop ramp with no wheels on I thought what better time could there be for me to become a guinea pig! The cost is going to be somewhere along the line of £300 plus the removal and refitting cost. The weight of the one piece shaft isn't yet know as they havn't yet made it but it should be slightly less than stock. Email me if interested or if you have any questions. Steve

Ok I need new rubber. I would appreciate some recommendations from those with aftermarket wheels. Sizes I need 285/30/18(10'rear) and 245/35/18(9'front) I currently use Fulda Extremo at the moment and the're a bag of shite. I don't want shares in the company's either if you know what I mean. Steve, what do you use again? Many thanks, Andy

I have just booked my car in for another service. The last service was on the 8/1/01 and here we go again barely a month later. I service mine every 3000 miles as I like to think the Turbo oil is clean and new as possible. Do you all think this is over the top? I'm a bit tired of driving the Hyundai Amica courtesy car so the longer I leave it, the better! Simon P.

After buying an RPS Clutch for my Z to replace the shot standard one, I have wimped out of going for a straight through exhaust and gone for a Mongoose cat back. Many thanks to Johnny at Grasshopper for finding me one. There appears to be no stock in the UK of these exhausts at the moment!. After seeing it in the flesh it does seem very good quality considering it wasn't that expensive. Hopefully it will all be finished for this weekend, time to test the exhaust through some quiet villages early morning me thinks!! It will be interesting to see if the mongoose gives any power gains over the stock one I had. Having said that how long should I run in th…

Theres been a lot of talk about Nissan Dealers being naff and ripping people off. I reckon it may be useful to start a list of dealers people have been to and if they got value for money from them in terms of cost, service and if they got the job done right or gave helpful advice. Also, sources of aftermarket stuff that you would normally go to Nissan for first - not performance stuff - stuff like fuel filters, fuel pipes, light bulbs etc. Also (again) good sources for scrapped Z's ( we all need one at some time!) I got a door handle from one for £40 instead of £150 from Nissan. What do you guys think?

Anyone know where I can get the blinds that go inside the T-Top roof panels. Can't remember what Nissan quoted but it was too much. Ta Eddie ;-)

On a frinds car I notice when it rains that it looks like there was some writing on the outside of the windscreen. Sadly he's got an Imported Mitsubishi FTO, but can anyone offer any tips on removing this stuff. It might be an Import thing, any you guys had to get this off your Imported Z's? Thanks in advance Eddie ;-)

Have any of you any experience of 2 cars on one policy? I do it with my motorbikes but just wondered if any of you had experience of a company that does it for cars. I thought I would get something sensible for the summer so settled on a Catheram Super 7 VVC. It's a lowly 153bhp but it's only a bathtub on wheels so 0-60 in 4.9 can be had! Unfortunately these are buggers to insure too but I can't drive both at the same time so I reckon I shouldn't have to pay 2 lots of insurance!!! Simon (growing old disgracefully!)

I have a 93 TT 2+2, UK spec, which I have just bought. Can anybody tell me if the car will be equiped with the wiring to run the Front Corner lights if they are changed over to Jap/US spec ones or will I have to "piggy back" them from the existing Side/Turn Indicators. Also has anybody attempted to replace the existing Turn/Indicators with the Jap/US Driving lights, i.e., what bits would I need? How are these lights switched on & off? Is the wiring in situ or would I have to wire them in seperately? And as a completely different Lights subject does anyone know if the clear Rear Lights sold by the likes of Stillen etc are legal in this country? Cheers, Hez.

Hi, After recieving Bobs cd manual, Thanks for every thing Bob, its very good. And looking at all the cars in the rides sec'. I've now taken the time to toothpick the car from plate to plate. It seems to be that my Z is a bit different. I bought the car in Aug 2000 off of a new neighbour (a car nut!)who bought the car from performance parts! I know the entire engine & turbos + acessories have only done 21k, Jap possibly, the man spared no expence! So far I have found; ram air total induction compressed inlets? S/S exhausts-make unknown? a loose vacume pipe pipes with no home at all, and other strange misalinements thereabouts. The car ticks over at about 1100 …

My recently acquired 92TT Z suffered from a NS rear wheel hop over bumps. I felt that the shockers were due replacing so got new stock ones. Since I never yet found any way to adjust the shockers I assumed that they were non adjust type. Today when I tried to do it I was quite surprised to find actuators on the tops. My NS one had the actuator wire just dangling loose. So methinks they are not used, just the wiring loom in place. Then I find the other one definitely attached to something. Could it be that whoever fitted the alarm sensor on the window maybe pulled apart the connector accidentally. Anyhow the manual waffles on about a diagnostic where you check boun…

Sorry to say this lads but i've let the side down. some twat in a TVR just kicked my ass. not surprising as my Z is still a stock import, but sickerning all the same. I'm going to take it to the next 2CV rally. i've got to sort this out by the summer. signed sad but true.

I've owned a jap spec z for two months now, and was wondering if it needs undersealing. Anyone had it done? Is it worth it? I'm probably going to keep the car for a while.... cheers.

Anyone know where to get clear side repeaters. I can find alot of clear indicators but no repeaters.

Sad thought it is, my Z is up for sale. Debts and mortgage payments are to blame and I need to cut down on my outgoings. If anyone on here is interested or knows someone then please pass the message on. Spec is on www.davehairs.freeserve.co.uk Couple of things not mentioned on there are stealth fitted radar detector in centre console (not mounted on top of dash) and number plate HAZ 2 300. It's cost me somewhere around £25,000 over the last couple of years and have I receipts for it. Power output on a Bosch calibrated rolling road a couple of months ago was 432 bhp at the flywheel - SE have the graphs. I'm open to offers - if they're not high eno…

Ok the story goes like this!!!Back in Nov-00 i bought a damaged 92 300ZX cause ive always liked them.It had Drivers wing and front bumper damage and would not run. I first bought the car, the C D manual and managed to buy an immac wing the same colour a headlight and bumper parts for £250.00. i fitted all that in dec and set about sorting the engine. Compression was very low, all plugs were firing, it turned out to be badly blown head gaskets, I removed both heads in the car to reveal water in the oil and pitted cam followers and wear on 2 sep cam lobes. Ive now bought another low mileage engine c/w turbos which ive heard running. Ive now removed the old bottom end …

Has no one else succumbed to the ad hype and got the E4 channel yet, then? =) Had an episode of Generation E last night featuring the cruising scene (or trying to; it spent a lot of time showing us some bloke terrorising the streets in a dodgy modded fiesta van) Anyway, only items of note were the two 300's that got some airtime, one of which I could have sworn belonged to someone on here - a nice grey looking beastie doing donuts in a Nottingham carpark =) Raz
