Now Ive had a good look at my car the problems are:- No indicators No power windows Steering has gone heavy HI-CAS light permanently on ANTI-LOCK light permanently on This has all happened at the same time so it must be an electrical problem i think. Ive checked all fuses and fuseable links and done an ECU diagnostic check and found nothing wrong After 1.5 years of trouble free motoring it looks like I have stormed to the top of the charts of Zed nightmares. I got in my car today to find water on the passenger seat. It looks as though rain is getting in from the top of the passenger window. I reckon the seals will need to be changed, but I'm sure I saw something on a web site, where you could give the old seals a new lease of life. Does anyone know anything about this? Cheers Vijay

Has anyone experianced this problem difficult to explain but basically my handling seems all over the place when driving straight (0-50mph ish) my car seems to wander all over the place and when I brake sometimes it will pull to the left and sometimes to the right. the above seems more pronounced when the car is cold, I have had the HICAS system checked over and had a new rear steering arm fitted but still the problem persists ! anybody any ideas ? its really stating to bug me . Thanks paulr

there we are driving down the road (in craigs car) and as he changes gears we hear whoooooosh (we look at each other and cant seem to understand where that came from) anyway we carry on driving up the road at about 3000 rpm chatting away and we hear it again after about 1 mile craig starts slowing for the traffic lights and this old rs turbo comes roaring down the side of us looking like the engine was about to blow, the guy had a wry smile on his face (i think) #anyway what a twat here we are on a lesarly sunday drive and some little zit monster is on a grand prix sunday lol it was really funny

Hi all, I will probably be buying Tarox 6 piston calipers with their 330mm disks. Since Tarox is a not so well known brand as Brembo, I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks in advance, Maciej

Can someone tell me if Castrol GTX Magnatec 10w40 performance range is fully synthetic? The details on the reverse say that it synthitcally enhanced but do not say whether it is synthetic or semi-synthetic. I'm moving across from Mobil 1 0w40 as this is very thin and keep draining from my lifters causing then to be noisy for a second or so at start up. Steve

I have gone for an RPS clucth to replace the slipping standard crap in my Z. I hope this was the right choice!. Does fitting this mean the problem won't arise again?. Has anyone had one of these cluthes for a while to comment?. Thank Geoff for letting me know about the earlier forum chat about this problem. It was very helpful. LaterZ

this is probably another naive question . but I have just had some work done on my propshaft (under warranty.. recomended garage i.e. not much choice!!) they have obviously lost some transmission fluid and A/T dipstick reads zilch !! is dextron the one to use ? as per the manual or should I be using something else? Under the terms of my warranty I have to have my car serviced by an accredited garage or a nissan dealers, so far I have kept my end of the bargain but it seems to me that the so called "accredited garages /nissan dealers "don t really know there arse from there elbow and consiquently when I do eventually get my car back I find myself checking things t…

I just found an old copy of performance and style magazine from July 1995 and there's a 503bhp Z inside by TDI..... Here's what they have modified.. Larger turbo's by HKS High flow exhaust without cats HKS EVC HKS turbo timer Larger fuel injectors TDI modified cylinder heads HKS VPC Dual friction clutch Larger brake discs & calipers Mmm! so far pretty average considering it still has stock pistons and intercoolers and ecu. The bodywork is standard and the owner has fitted 17" fittipaldi wheels. Then I got the the cost of this conversion carried out by TDI, on top of the £15000 price tag for the car....... £14,000 plus labour c…

Any body got experience with water injection? It is supposed to stop pre-ignition. It works like fuel dumping but 6X more efficient and I heard water is cheaper than petrol?

Hi all, On Friday night, rush hour traffic, I broke down in my 300zx UK 1993 model. I could not believe it !!! What happened was that I was on the hill (like everyday of the week I normally am) and then suddenly the revs should went dead and the engine switched off. Tried to start it again, but it did not want to know. The battery was fine and engine was turning over fine, but did not fire. I then called the AA. I tried 5 times to start it and then the 6th time I started it just fine. The AA guy then turned up !! Anyway, I was just about to go off and then the engine cut out again ! The AA guy said fuel line is ok, but could not diagnose anything else. I th…

Thinkin' of junkin the standard spoiler after similar probs to recent posts. Obviously going to contact SE, but does anyone know if fitting this wing leaves standard mounting holes that need filling? Also is it a DIY job (if the wing is sprayed seperately) Does the rear end usually need spraying because it has been covered since new? Cheers, Glenn

Guys & Girls, Myself and a couple of friends are looking at buying a 300ZX for track day use only and I would like your opinions on a couple of things as I am a ZX novice. We are looking at doing between 6 and 10 days a year. 1)Manual or Auto - would prefer a manual but how good is the auto box? 2)Reliability - Being a Nissan I expect them to be pretty good, but seeing as they are so complicated I would worry about something very expnsive happening. 3) Twinturbo or NA - again would prefer a twin, but how good are the non turbo imports? 4) Wheels - Tyre prices for 18's are scandalous, is the handling so much better than on 16's that the co…
