My recently purchased z has a KN Filtercharger sticker under the bonnet. I even give Bell Direct an extra £30 for the priviledge. Taking off the centre panel reveals what looks to me like a standard Nissan filter - all black plastic and looking like it has two paper elements. A KN should look like a conical convoluted thing n'est pas? Or could some scuz z owner have swapped mine for his standard one before the car was sold to me??? Is this possible? What is one of these supposed to look like and what does it cost?

Thanks for everyones views on the best exhaust to choose for my TT. If I do opt to go for a cat back system is this something I can fit myself? Has anyone had a go at this? Does even fitting a cat-back system help the turbos breathe or should I stick with my stock items and save the cash! Let me know, cheers

HI People, Sorry to be boring ,but I replied to `George`s insurance question `what do you think` can I get mine cheaper.... KEV

After spending lots of money fitting a strosek body and upgrading my TT's engine, It has the show!, It has the go! but it just won't bloody slow. Basically the brakes are now complete arse with this extra power. Does fitting groove discs with better pads make any difference. If so can anyone recommend any supplier in particular or suggest an alternative option, short of hitting the car in front!! Also are there any plans to hold a meet way down south? Thanks

At last, a good site to get info on my Z! I recently upgraded the ECU on my TT and I am now looking at buying a straight through exhaust from Silvia Engineering. Have you had any good / bad experiences with these systems. Do they make much difference to the performance? Are better options available? Please help !!

Is it true imports are filled with DOT 3 brake fluid? And is a case of drain and fill with DOT 4/DOT 5 or another recommended spec? Cheers

I've got a 91 300ZX TT Import, and can't understand whats the big deal with insuring one of these compared to insuring a non imported 300 of the same spec. Rang around for a few insurance quotes, as soon as you mention it's an import the price goes sky high. Decided to go for one of these low mileage classic policies as everything else quoted is too unreasonable. What's everyones thoughts on this? Should the Imported 300's be viewed with such detest by insurers?? And does anyone know why. The Jap cars are supposed to undergo a more stringent MOT test then ours, so whats the big deal. I didn't really realise there was such a difference in the price…

I'm not sure if this is due to a recent set of tyres being fitted (10k ago) but I've noticed that when I hit 100mph or so (on a private test track - officer!) I get a vibration which stays with me at speeds over that. Is there anything else that I should check that could cause high speed vibrations? She's getting on a bit now so I thought 'wheel bearings' Comments Appreciated. Simon 90300zxTT

Hi guys. As the topic says i'm thinking of buying a 300zx TT. It's a while off yet as my insurance runs out in April, and they wont swap it over :( I was just wondering what to look out for as i don't want to spend that much and get a bad one. General info would be nice as i'm new to the supercar scene. I own a little 106 rallye ATM so it will be a big leap up :) TIA. Rob.

Mate of mine from work who is also a memmber of this forum ( hey Tizz) took his UK spec Z to Halfords this morning for a compression check and Alternator belt re -fit. Halfords phoned him back saying that the Compression check would be 60 quid !!!!! and to change the Alternator belt would require the engine to be removed. Hehe. Sorry but that is about the funniest shit i have heard this year. Do they have trained mechanics at halfords or is it just a case of solving this countries employments problems !!! Moral of this story - don't take a Z to halfords unless you want a laff. Z ya Nico91TT

Today, I hit a pot hole which was unavoidable and it has seriously damaged both front and rear nearside wheels :-( I'm having the suspension checked out this week for any damage but I think it's okay. I suspect that they can't repaired and I think that the supplier of the wheels won't have them in stock, if they have even still make them. So, I'm thoroughly p1stt off and wanted to let you all know the pitfalls of wheels with low profile rubber!! Steve

I know I am probably going to hell for this post regarding bulbs, but anyway here goes. Having read the tech sec on bulb mod for a jap and looked at the various varieties in halfords, can anyone tell me how good the Bosch 453 bulbs are with Zenon or Xenon not sure which as they are supposed to be 30% brighter than a std 55w but they cost twice as much

Ford escort Cosworth bit off more than he could chew earlier today and was obviously disappointed as I came along side him at a speed I can't print here because my mum reads this forum and might worry. He was quick, but not that quick. Not bad considering I probably weigh in at double his weight.

Has any one got these on there 300z if so do 245 40 18 go on the front without rubbing inner arch on full lock. As Wheel Mania told me they will, the same as the seneca rg wheels, are these people right. Im sure that a lot of you must have 245 40 18 on the front without problems. Also on what width are the wheels 8" or 8.5" and with what offset. Cheers for earlier replies.
