Driving round a roundabout a couple of hours ago, roundabout was icy which caused my Zed to slid into the kerb! unfortunatly I was trying to steer which means my Left front wheel hit the kerb "face on"! I got out to find my wheel back and under the wheel arch by about six inches! After speaking to Craig it looks like I may need to replace the lower suspension on that side. And after Zed was loaded on the Recovery truck I saw the anti roll bar had snapped and that the wheel had hit the wing causing the wing to be slightly out of shape. One good thing though, my fibreglass front got away with scrapes and cracks. I'll take some pics after I get the wheel off this weekend…

Hi, I've got a 1990 Fairlady Z NA Short Wheel Base manual. Last year one of the standard back boxes went and I was quoted 13 hundred quid by Nissan for a new one. After loads of phoning round (no one seemed to be able to get hold of a system for the 2 seater) I eventually found someone that could make up a complete system for my Z for around 600 pounds, they are called Powerflow. The power gain was good 'cos the whole system was 'straight through', the trouble was that it was unbelievably loud (4 x 3" DTM pipes that acted like trumpets as well). I decided to get some new boxes in an attempt to make it slightly quieter so I got a couple of Simons baffled racing boxes …

I know someone with a 90 300 Na. Its been off the road for a couple of years because it has a fault and he doesn't know what to do about it. Basicly sometimes it will start and sometimes it just turns over without even trying to fire, it could also cut out for no reason. Im sure I once read about the power transistor being the usual cause but I cant remember any details. Any Ideas? Paul..

Hi chaps, last week, decided to take the plunge and added Nitrox Hotshot to fuel tank to clean the injectors / fuel system. The next day I added engine flush to the old oil, then drained it out. Then added new Mobil 1 (0W-40)& Nissan oil filter and then added Extralube ZX1 oil lubricant to the oil. Finally, replaced the standard paper air filters with Green cotton ones and all seems OK after about 150 miles ! Am I sad but isn't a great feeling when you've replaced the oil in the engine ? Regards William

What is the process of getting the front speaker cones out of the door panel? Does the grill pop off? I'd rather ask you lot first than undertake the normal routine of 'Break it' then ask questions later!!! Simon P 90TT

Hi, Just to keep you informed I am currently working on some fun bits for the "Zed", that if I can get this ***kin camera to work properly you will all see. Solid ali checker plate floor mats, looking good but finessing & finish need perfecting, only 6 shades of annodising at the moment, "Z" emblem & getting it the "dogs" in all 4 mats is being a total bstd job! Also being developed, STD wheel finishes, again ***kin camera poxy thing! I have found a company to light "medium"(soft grit)semi air blast all that old shite off those wheels back to hhhmmm nice "restart situation" For only £30.00 for all 4 alloys so you can go from there, polishing spokes…

I have 2 noises which I would like advice on how to cure (I am fed up turning the stereo up!). The first is from one side of the Instrument Console, and I guess may be there from re-assembling following the Speedo change (kph to mph). It sounds like plastic on plastic and is there with every bump in the road. Is there a recommended compound to use to isolate the two surfaces? The second is a noise that I remember from every Estate car I have sat in? I guess this would be the Tailgate hinges, and is a high pitch smooth metal on metal. It is there every time the car flexes. Any advice on what can be done? There may be other common noises that I may "intr…

I cleaned my IAA valve yesterday which made no difference at all. I disconnected it today with the engine running and nothing happened. Should the engine stall when I disconnect it? If it's broken does anyone know if I can just buy the solenoid?

My other half likes my car very much but is not as mad on zeds as I am and she does not read this forum. However she looked at it over my shoulder and found it very amusing and now thinks we are all a bunch of sad gits who talk about "who's got the biggest exhaust pipe" I told her this isn't true and that we sometimes talk about headlight bulbs and mats as well.. Im sure im not the only one here subjected to this sort of abuse. Paul..

When I come to a junction I slow down and if it is clear I pull away. when I put my foot on the throttle not having come to a complete standstill the revs drop and for a couple of seconds nothing happens then the engine revs pick up and it pulls away. It's a nightmare if you try to pull out with an oncoming car in the wet cos when it does pick up the back end flies out. I have cleaned the IAA valve, throttle bodies and replaced the TPS. I currently have the idle turned up to 1500rpm to stop the hesitation. Anyone got any ideas

I am looking at some minor mods in spring to push up power a bit on my 92 UK TT. I assume the first thing is to change exhaust. Then intake to hi flow etc. Is the intake upgrade a DIY job ? Do you need to change any sensors or settings ? (excuse my ignorance) or is it like a Bill Gates O/S Plug 'n' Pray! Assumming these two mods what sort of net bhp increase could I expect. And more importnantly whats the next logical step after exhaust/intake ? And I thought 276bhp would be enuf ..... Glenn
