Joy Oh Joy me Z's back and running fine, the alternator is fixed. Just for the record I was charged 2hrs labour, one to get if off and one to put it back on, (this included a lift back to my house by the mechanic). Reconditioning the alternator, (jap import), £140 plus v.a.t. The best news is that this is covered by my Breakdown Insurance so I expect to get most of it back. (The insurance aonly allow 1hr labour for the job). Thanks to those who advised. Simon ------------------ Simon

I have a dilemma as usual, its the one I usually have when I see my ten grand tied up in a car thats virtually unusable and just sat in my garage! I only have about 35mm ground clearance on the front of my car and it scratches on everything! Carpark entrances, bumps in the road etc and it gets me down It sits on 18's and SE lowered springs, if I put an OEM front bumper and original springs anyone any idea how much extra clearance this would give me and would my car look shite? Here it is, can someone recommend a way that I can get some more air between the splitter and the nasty and cruel road otherwise its gonna have to go Thanks Thanks…

Saw J*** CYK black Zed parked in the layby opposite Debenhams on...uh...Saturday, I think... Weekend has blurred into one long episode, but I think Saturday...and some friends of mine saw a red Zed pass them in Pizza Hut on Saturday morning - they thought it was me - everyone who knows me goes Zed spotting! So - either of those anyone here?

Hi All Seen some wheels i liked over the w/e for the Zed. However, they are only available in 8x18. Does anyone else have this size. As the rears are already 8.5 in width, will this look a little narrow? Also, what is the correct ofset please.? CheerZ S

Hi Peeps, I need a new chip for my computer, and since I'm capable of socketing it myself, I'd rather not send it off anywhere. (But not too bothered if I have too, just trying to save some cash) I know of JWT (obviously), and have heard that SE do their own chip. Of course it needs to be mapped to my engine specifics, blah blah.. Any thoughts on where in the UK I might get my hands on one. (8 months of no Z are hopefully coming to a close now - just need injectors, ecu and exhaust and I'll be able to start it again) Thanks in advance Simon.

Andy mate, Got back last night and checked my Blitz zorst box...all gasketts and nuts and bolts and instructions etc. Hey mate, it's a Blitz FFS! Quality is to be expected and admired! LMFAO Buy you an extra can of Stella if you can fit my induction kit aswell! I took the headlamp panel off this afternoon with a mother goose hangover, sleep depravation was also making things worse as I was chatting to the main man(Macca) at about...oh 6am this morning. Dropped a socket but retrieved it from the protection tray! Looked at the air box, looked at the induction kit and just decided not to bother at all. Put it back together and buggered off back…

I need brighter bulbs in the rear lights and bought some 32W/4W bulbs today. I need to change them from 2 pins on the bottom to just one. If I solder the two pins/filaments together what wattage will they become? This is the easiest way to get them to fit. Do I need to just use the 32W filament on it's own? The standard bulb is 21W but couldn't find any single filament bulbs of higher wattage and can't remember my ohms law!

I think I need a new one soon so im gonna send to the states for one and a lightened flywheel but after looking on TT net for recomendations there is lots of different opinions as usual, act rps and jwt seem popular. I want something that will hold if I go for bigger turbos/injectors in the future. I dont want something horrible to drive with or something that will eat the flywheel. Have any of you lot bought a good clutch recently. Oh and dont start on about triple plate HKS or anythin else stupid. I aint payin well over £1000 for a clutch Paul

I'm confused about the minimum "on-spec" compression pressure for a UK spec TT. PAge EF & EC-70 of my UK workshop manual say 142 psi whereas postings elsewhere say 127 psi.

Got some spray tint today to black out the rear lights and it says to give 2 or 3 coats... I had to do about 10 coats and ran out on the first light! Paid 11 quid for a shitty little can and now the Z looks like someones punched it up the arse! Just hope I can get another can tomorrow or i'll look like a tit all week.
