Harrys advert on the smelly: "a water pump for a Citroen Xantia at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon? Errr yep!" MY FUCKING ARSE THEY DO! OK my Mercedes is a 190E 2.3 16v Cosworth which I admit is a tad specialist in the engine department! Well not that much really, it's a Kirk block with Cossie heads. When my temp guage started to throw an epileptic fit I immediately thought the thermostat or summat similar. So I bob down to Harry Halfords and they don't do one. In fairness they could order I think but not in stock. They do sod all for that car, oil filter, air filter etc. etc. Basic stuff but they don't do anything! Anyway, I need a new sump nut as t…

FFS! These guys did this ages ago didn't they? Not only is this mag bloody hard to come by(have searched bloody everywhere for it) but it takes them ages to get articles together! However, excellent write up on the Space Cadet Community and their hot SX's which was a spanking good read! REZPECT to all the 200 lads, some bloody good BHP figures from the Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze crew! ROFL So if their day at Interpro has only just gone in? When the fuck are the 300's gonna emerge??? Or was it a different mag altogether??? Jezz Palmer? Is that our Jezz??? 13 your lucky number matey???

Hi all. Collected my 92 uk spec tt auto yesterday after having engine rebuild new turbos etc. Apart from it needing an oil top up and a coil pack tightening all seems to be well. I was advised to run it in for about 500 miles not exceeding 4k rpm. Here is the problem. In order for me to get the car to change up to third gear I’m having to take her up to 5500 rpm @ 70 mph. In order to stay below the advised 4k rpm mark means going no faster than 45 mph at 4k rpm in second gear. (I hope this is making sense). If I take her up to 5500 rpm to finally get third gear I can reduce speed to 40 mph @ 2000 rpm and it will stay like that until I stop, then the problem s…

Hi all, I would like to paint my Zed's balance bar but am unsure what kind of paint to use. I've seen stuff at my wholesaler's that'll withstand temps upto 650C - is that enough? Also, there isn't a problem in taking the bar off the engine right - assuming I cover all the holes and remember which vac tube goes where ... Thanks for your replies! Danny

  12. Hi guys & gals, Just thought I'd warn you about the terrible weather that's about to hit us. You see, whenever I even think about pointing a hose at my car it starts pissing down with rain. Today I not only washed the silver beast, I also vacuumed, polished AND waxed it (need sun glasses even in the dark but at least I can see where I'm going LOL). SO, given my usual track record of "wash and drown" we are now in for atleast a foot of snow, golfball sized hail and I'll even throw in a tornado! Just blame me for any bad weather - that's what my girlfriend does so I'm used to it Zee Ya's! Danny

Two weeks ago I fitted my Zees EX exhaust. Today whilst accelerating flat out in fourth gear on a local dual carrigeway, my f@@@@@@ clutch began to slip . This happened to somebody else here didn't it? Anyway, what are your views/experiences with aftermarket clutch plates? Good or bad? Can anyone reccomend a good friction plate? I don't need flywheel/pressure plate. How do they compare to new a Nissan plate?? Many thanks in advance. RCD p.s. its nice to have the forum back!

Before I put my engine back into the Z, I think I'm going to replace the engine loom - coz it's all gone crispy! Question is: If I order a new loom, will I get one designed for a 93+ Z - i.e. with the newer PTU? I've got a 91 Z you see, and reckon I might as well replace the PTU at the same time, since its only a matter of time before it dies imo. Cheers guys n gals! ------------------ Simon
