General Discussions - 300ZX Related

If anyone;s in Farnborough today, avoid the Total garage on the way into town from the Queen's Head Hotl roundabout. Went in today to fill up. Put fifteen quid in (from empty) and petrol starts pouring everywhere (floor, side of car, me) - seems the fuel pump broke and didn't detect the back pressure. Went into the garage, they couldn't tell how much had been spilt so they couldn't refund. Mad?? I was bloody fuming .

C5 OOL, white Twin Turbo (not sure what spec) frequently seen in the Aerospace Business Park - you in this club? Mine is usually parked in the multi-story behind Systems Union house. James.

Driving back this evening after the meet and i was really rather boggred!!! As i approched my little village in the middle of nowhere something caught my eye that causes me much amusement. You know those signs that warn you of slippry road surfaces, well on the black outline of the car someone had obviously found it funny to write 300ZX in white paint on the back of it!!! Wonder why!?? ROFL!! ZEDSTER

Down at the chester meet today and someone pointed out something very strange!!! Filled his car up with optimax (im really sorry mate i cant remember ur name again!!! even though u did follow me for ages!) and then noticed a stranghe whirring noise in his zed. Turns out that in the centre bar between the targas in between the courtesy light and the reading lights, there is a really small fan!!!! WIERD or what! there are two little slats for it and we all just wanted to know........... What exactly does it do????

OK, so heres the story.............. Que harp noise and wavey effect! About this time last week myzed started to leek oil-BIGTIME!!!! At first i thought it maybe tranny fluid (no sexchange jokes please!) but then realised it was engine oil. It was coming from pretty much central of the car towards the front. Popped the car into a local garage who i must say have always been very good and then was informed than my rear main bearing seal was leaking. Ok ok..........hhmmmmmm let me think, gearbox and exhaust off maybe- sigh!!! yes i think so! A tenner for the seal and a couple of hundred quids worth of labour later and much swearing from the poor bugger working on …

Those of you that have fitted carbon fibre/ aluminium/ wood trim dash kits in your Z's - what did you do about the pieces that fit around the elec window switches on either door. I assume you bought a kit from the US and so their LHD versions won't fit the RHD we all got. Or am I missing a trick?? It looks like the rest of the bits are same for LHD and RHD?

Hey all i know this is a common problem on the Z but has anyone figured a way or know of a way to stop the brakes overheating so much without spending the £1000000000 pounds on the bigger discs and calipers? mine has got uprated black diamond discs and uprated pads. i have changed the brake fluid and i think its got dot 5.1 running throught the brake lines. any other suggestions? the only way i thought was maybe to change the front nose cone for one that allows more air through.
