Hi ya all Finally got the report from the garage, engine is knackered(as if I didn't already know). They have told me it would be in the region of £4000-£5000 for a full strip and rebuild, as nearly all the engine if f*****d, so my only choise has to be a second hand engine, so the car is booked in for next week, hopefully be back to me in around 7 days. I know this is not the cheapest option but as my only car I can't afford it to be off the road for a few months, first finding a place to rebuild and then the rebuild itself. I'll let you know how it goes and if it goes pear shaped you can me 'I told you so' afterwards. Regards JOHN

I bought this gorgeous looking ZX back in July last year... One years warrenty.. There are three things that are really, REALLY, pissing me off. The first and the worse is that there is a flat spot, on pulling away at low revs.. Plugs, (Platinum Plugs..)and filters are all new... The second thing is that the power steering tends to go really stiff all of a sudden at low speeds like going round a roundabout, then it'll come back.... Dogey or what... then thirdly... it crunches or notches into second gear... The gear I can live with but the other things are a pain... My dealer, Bless him, has honoured the warrenty and had it back about six times and its been to di…

Can anyone help me out here... My Z has recently spent about 6 months off the road and has developed a series of electrical failures. I've looked under the bonnet and there's a fair bit of corrosion (nothing serious but enough to make me concerned about connections, etc.) I've WD40'd every connection I can see but am still getting several problems: 1. intermittent fault on left dip light 2. right front indicator doesn't work but bulb tests OK 3. car has taken to occasionally stalling at low speeds (makes for interesting steering / braking!) 4. HICAS light occasionally comes on half way through a longish trip (fluid is full) although this is improving with …

I'm new here, but from what i've seen, there seems to be a lot of (friendly?) banter regarding the whole "Us & Them" scenario.... why not arrange a meet on "level ground" ie. the midlands (sorry for calling you that). Then the subject can be discused like gentlemen, failing that, possibly decided by competitions arranged ammacably by both sides...... EG: "Who ate all 20 pies?" "How many jellied eels in 1 set of Y-fronts" "Fastest round the car park in lancashire mill clogs" "Are 180's possible in suvern Z's) Suggestions? Fitted my breather kit o/s was tight but ok, but the n/s was to tight and the hose kinks whichever way I put it around, and having followed the instructions too the letter. then there is the reducing bushes which are not shown to be needed unless youre supposed to fit the origional breather pipes as well( which have restrictors and wire brush inside) but it says remove and replace. anyway here some photos I ended up splitting the o/s hose with a 90 degree elbow to stop it kinking.

The CIA was recruiting for the position of assassin. They had one vacancy; there were three candidates - two women and a man. The interview procedure was very thorough. At the end of the day the three candidates were advised that they had to pass a final test, designed to ensure that they would carry out any order, regardless of the circumstances. The first woman was taken to a metal door and given a gun. She was told "Inside this room you will find your husband, sitting in a chair. We want you to kill him." She responded without hesitation: "Oh no, I couldn't possibly do that. Not my husband - I love him!" On hearing this, the senior agent sho…

Hey all Ok got the stage 2 turbo's comming next week. any engineering company i speak to tell me that i should put forged pistons in to the bottom end. but i guess this also means i have to put stronger conrods in. do i have to do this to accept higher boost and stage two turbos? the bottom end is fine and i might be bying another which is fine to work on. Just afraid that i might be being told to buy something i dont need! Latz PS i take in to consideration that there is no definate way to say if my bottom end will take this. i just wanted your opinions [This message has been edited by Latz (edited 20-02-2002).]

Driving to work this morning on the A1(M), I looked over to my left and there was a woman in a brand new Merc doing 65 miles per hour with her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner! I looked away for a couple seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on that damn makeup!!! It scared me so bad I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my mobilephone away from my ear which fell into the coffee between my legs and DISCONNECTED AN IMPORTANT CALL!!!!!!! …
