Hi guys, do you ever have one of those days where the world seems a real good place to be, like when you have been paid by a customer or you managed to buy the only dvd copy of The Fast & furious featuring a 20 minute chase with zeds (yeh right!) and most of all the car is running TOPS!! Spent most of yesterday travelling around customers sorting probs out on their cars and in between each call ended up having either races or drags off the lights.Seems everybody was up for it yesterday around the Tamworth area. But one particular bit of fun was when waiting at some lights outside Lichfield two abreast against a Merc SLK guy was well up for it and scoping the gree…

Hey guys just wanted to chime in here after reading numerous posts involving a lot of bashing here... First off, I'm a Porsche owner (on my second 944-->turbo), but a big admirer of 300ZXs, specially the twin turbos. The performance of these cars are almost dead even IMO, but there are a lot of other subjective areas the cars are different on. Anyway, even if one of these cars were faster than the other that's no reason to put down the other, and please I ask you to not judge all Porsche owners by what a fire starter chooses to post. Infact I've done numerous track events with a close buddy who owns a 300zx tt, and as much as we both love our own cars, …

I hope a few chaps out there will be glad to know that I've bought yet another Z, but this time to drive and not to take apart. My first Z (I owned for 2 years)I had to dismantle because it was knackered. The 2nd Z I bought a few days ago, to dismantle, and the 3rd (bought today) is my new car that I'll be driving. Its good to be back !! AndyZZ

(Brake light not too important) http://www.zcentre.co.uk/spoilers/zc006a.htm I have a set off standard Z wheels with tyres and a couple of turbos if anyone would like to do some kinda deal with either of them. Just returned from the garage who are fitting an Energy Suspension bush kit for me. They have 2 large bushes left with a code 4178 on them. They have not changed the Differential bushes yet, and the kit is meant to have a Rear differential carrier bushing set included. I assume the bushes are the ones for the back of the diff to attach to rear of the rear sub-frame? The bushes are about the same diameter, but the new ones (the 2 left over) are deeper. I wondered if my 'later' model may have had a different solution, but there was a 1989 import there as well which had the same depth. Can anybody put me right? Thanks, Geoff

Is there anyone in the UK that can convert an auto 300z in to a tiptronic or sequential gearbox system similar to the porche and if so how much would it cost. I am just getting mine back on the road and would like to do some major modifications [This message has been edited by thebigfish (edited 16-02-2002).]

I'm thinking of buying a used estate or cheap 4x4. Needs to have a big boot, lots of extras and be good on fuel to make up for the Z. Performance is not important - my other car is quite quick... I was thinking of a Discovery or Omega estate or something? Have up to £15K to spend. What secret bargains are there to be had in the car world at the moment?

Apologies if this has been said before.... but I rented Fast & Furious last night - and not a Zed in sight (unless you count the fleeting glimpse of some babe's reflection in the "300ZX" panel as the credits roll..) Still, some fancy motors to look at though. Lurvely RX-7.....

FFS!!!!!!!! I posted earlier on tonight about the fact that I'd clocked an unmarked in Brum in the roadworks on the M6. Is it not enough that they've got FUCKING SPECCS(I'll get you no matter what radar dicktector you've got!) cameras throughout that they need to send out MUPPET coppers in BMW's??? I AM STARTING TO HATE THE UK TRAFFIC POLICE WITH A FUCKING VENGEANCE!!! BIG TIME!!! USELESS FUCKERS!!!

I get white smoke out of the back when I first start the car. It is only for about a seconds or so. I read on the diagnostics and is says something about the Fuel Pressure Regulator Diaphragm failure. Can some one shed some light on the matter and tell me how to fix it. Stuart

Tim & I were comparing cars t'other night and my Jap spec is clearly lower at the back than his UK model. A very unscientific measure at the time made it look about 2 inches. Anyway, tonight I measured mine like this ... .. and the height from the ground to the top of the spoiler is 975mm. I know the lump of fence post isn't quite level in the pic, but it was when I actually did the measuring. Now my car is totally standard in the springing department, but does have Tokico shox. AFAIK Tim's is also standard. Anyone care to compare a few others ?

...so I could use some serious advice. Today I got flashed by a gatso. But this is no ordinary gatso, it flashed me going towards it, on the opposite lane. There was no white lines underneath my car, they are in the opposite lane (2 lane road, 30mph zone). Am I going to be shafted by plods' truncheon or what??? Has anybody been prosecuted in this way?? This speed camera has only just started doing this. Because before this week I was zooming past it without a problem. I am currently sh*tting myself, as it has taken me three f*ucking times to realise what's going on. Have I just capsized the boat going down shit creek??? I would appreciate …

Stopped at the garage to get some cigs tonight almost home, put it in N and left it ticking over! Came out and noticed smoke coming from underneath. Same problem I had a while back. Got home and grabbed the maglite, looked underneath and I could see where fluid had marked the zorst to just passed the centre. It's not done this since having the gearbox done until now. Few thousand miles! However, I've still got serious vibration problems in the drivetrain, more than likely the prop. Is it possible that driving the car like this has knackered the rear seal on the gearbox again? I'm gonna get it up on the ramps tomorrow and get my sorry ass underneath to see w…
