Have stuck a post in 'events' to find others travelling from South Wales ... Maybe others want to start similar threads in 'events' to avoid clogging up the general forum ... you know how Craig & Nico love people using the wrong forum ! Strong smell of petrol under the bonnet, even after driving 20-30 miles. Hoses between the fuel filter and plennum area were all replaced about six months ago with some decent clips that can be properly tightened. Any ideas where else to look. Perversely fuel comsumption is ridicoulsy low with the fuel warning light coming on at 330 miles despite me trying to hammer the hell out of here recently. Power does also seem down.

Huge improvement, by doing this. Go to boots buy a suitable long bottle cleaning brush. Remove bulb for round lenz, stick brush in holder untill you can see it touching the inside of the lenz & give it a clean. Gently! you can see some sort of white dust being removed from the inside! (you will have to put a bend in the wire brush handle where nessesary-fuse box alarm etc) gets in the way a bit. Now i have propper beams of light in front of the car. harve

I had a good rummage on the underside of my 1990 UK auto....it's been in MK Engines for SIX 'kin weeks now!! Anyway, I was relatively surprised with the condition of the underside...rear sub-frame etc. There was, however, one GLARING exception....the rear diff casing looked like it belonged to a 50 year old truck!! The back plate (alloy by the looks of it) was fine...but the main casing ...Jeez...really heavy, haevy corrosion. I guess that's due to them running do hot. Anyway....anyone got a half decent one or any suggestions where I can get one??

Hi, Does anyone know what thickness of steel I'm supposed to use to weld bodywork? I've ripped everything out of my engine bay to get at a few rusty bits and as I suspected a couple of bits need welding on each of the inner wings. Thing is I do have some bits of metal about a 1mm (not sure exactly gotta get em out the loft) but I'm not sure what thickness I'm supposed to be using, any ideas? Thanks, Jezz.
