I like the "Oh where did you come from!" approach to my burn offs! Watching the rear view mirror on the A55 and I see the red Fiat(First in all trouble) Coupette closing like an exocet missile. Just finished putting new thermostat in car not a bad job to do. Just bleed the system and going to let it cool down and bleed again to make sure I have got all air out. But all looks good let you no see yur jay:)

Has anyone fitted a separate oil cooler for the auto box? Did you use both the old one and the new or disconnect the old one and just use the new one? :confused:

To check your HICAS (just incase you feel the urge) this is the procedure, not sure if it works i havn't tried it yet. Procedure: 1.Ignition switch 'off' manual tranny in neutral or a/t in 'p' 2.start the engine 3.within 10 seconds after turning the key to 'on', start the engine, turn steering wheel from left to right 20 degrees from neutral 5 times or more & pump the brakes 5 times. then press the brake pedal again to enter test mode. 4.turning the steering wheel left or right past 20 degrees will cause the rear wheels to turn (~1 degree) 5.Drive the car forward 15 feet under 9mph to enter the full diagnostic mode. 6. I have had ticking noises coming from under my car which could just be heard inside the car for several weeks,The last few times ive been out its been getting worse,I took it to a mechanic who I no who had a good look, the noise is like a blowing noise which was coming from the turbo/exhaust manifold area he tightened and checked all the nuts and bolts he could get to but there was no difference, his diagnosis was it looks like a gasket or even head gaskets (please no) has anyone had this problem or had to fix there exhaust manifold ,please tell me its not an engine out job . :( :( CheerZ Terry

My last post on this seems to have got lost in the switch to the new forum. So 'ere it is again. When I tested the resistance on my ignition coils i got readings of about 1 to 1.1 ohms. The book says it should be "approx 0.7 ohm". Is that approximate enough? It seems way out to me by 30%. What is the normal acceptable variance on these things - electrics whizzes please respond. I have a couple noises can anyone shed any light on them? 1. On cold morinings theres a knocking / jangling noise behind the dash, could it be the Struts? 2. On Cold mornings get a Whining from what sounds like the drive shaft, normal? Also the back end seems very unstable at any speed on bumpy roads. Feels like the rear wheel steering? K i wan't to check my fuel pump, pump controller, filter and the general fuel line is ok so its probably best i just check the pressure of the system at idle/ under load etc. So what gauge do i want for this and where do i connect it, i don't really want anything permanent,..... yet...;) Thanks Rob

You may be wondering just how they get there ;) Well I get ur answer, follow these steps and you could have your very own little picture :D User CP (top right) Edit options Change avatar create a pictureusing your favourite graphics package, and make sure it is below 50x50 pixels. Upload the file using the bottom option BINGO, ur done! Simple when you know how eh ;) :) I will see you again in the next episode..lol :D

I'm going to view a UK ZX TT (1991). The seller says that the speedo needle vibrates. Is this indicitive of anything serious or is it purely cosmetic? He also says that the LCD goes blank every so often??? Many thanks Jon
