Anyone seen this before: Driving along minding my own business when suddenly the windscreen wipers come on all by themselves. The only way to stop them is to turn off the ignition - something that's a bit difficult in rush hour on the A12! I've taken the wiper fuse out and put it back in when it starts raining, but it's not really ideal. If anyone can point me at what this might be I'd really appreciate it, Damien

Like Gio my Z is smoking too. I had some fun with my car today doing a few full acceleration pull offs from standing start but most of the 30 min drive was driving at 50-60. Get to the car park and had to wait for a for 20mins for a place and way when I find one, I reverse into the space only to be faced with smoke coming from the exhaust and quite a bit, and it smelled of oil. However the car had not beed driven for over a day and nothing occured when I started it in the morning. The car lay was stopped in the carpark for 2½ hours before starting again, and nothing was visible when I started it then and all the way home no smoke appeared. Is this my turb…

This sunday (13/10/02) 12 noon We have decided on going to the foaming jug, in oaken. The maps to get to this are here: and this is how to get to the place from the M6 Allthough a longer but easier route is: To join the M54 from M6 J10a go up to juntion 3 get off and head towards wolverhampton (A41) Carry on for about 3.5 miles and the pub is on the left just after a set of lights at a fork in the road with a bunch of uninhabited houses in the middle (you will see why ) This means going past the place and coming back on yourself. Let me know which way you woudl rather take, cos we can gladly organise a convo…

WISE INVESTMENT? Receivers called in to wind up a carpet firm in Cardiff recently found a ten year old XJ220 behind a bricked up staircase. The directors of the company had bought the £415,000 car it as an investment. BANNED Video cameras have been banned from cars driving on the Nurburgring after someone posted a video of a fatal accident on the web.

Hi there i need to do a time belt on my 300 zx turbo. It's a jap import and I thought i better be safe than sorry as i have no service history. Any way i can source a belt easy enouh but have been advised by my machanic that i should also replace the pulleys and belts etc. He tells me these normally come in kits. E.G. When you change cam belt you might as well do these as well. Can any one help I can't source them any where. Has any one ever done a cam belt?

Hi Anyone got a telephone number for ordering a replacement foam element for the HKS induction kit on my Import TT? I very stupidly expected my local C.A.R. 'Supercentre' to be of help, but they are just giving me the dick around. "Oh, it's a Nissan 300ZX TT.....is that a Nova or a Corsa?" AAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!! Cheers!

There seems to be an engine cover attached with two bolts either side that is no loose (and a lot smaller than before!!).. Also in front of that the air inlet for the radiator has a tray which is damaged... Anyone know where i can get these cheap? Not much cash as i've just spent everthing on my Fairlady....... Dan

No2 My Zed has 135,000km / 84,000m. Originally bought by me at 72,000km / 45,000m in Aug 99 and serviced by Nissan ever since. April - C service. May - Mongoose fitted. June - Checked over by JeffTT, TB clean etc. Tickety-boo. This August, she was left ticking over on a ramp while the bloke did the MOT. After a while, blue smoke started to drift out of both exhausts. When I drove home there were a few clouds of blue smoke which cleared after 5 - 10 miles or so. Today, I pick up the car from the bodyshop (where it has been standing for a few days) and again, blue smoke for a few miles before it gradually goes away. Is this a) something that…

I just picked my car up after 2 weeks in the bodyshop and it is almost impossible to get into gear. The pedal is limp for most of its travel and only just bites when it is right on the floor. 2 Qs: Q1 - when I dropped it off at the bodyshop, it was fine. For what possible reason is it now so bad? (The tripmeter indicates less than 1km so it can't have been thrashed, surely?) Q2 - is this the fix? Or is there a worse problem lurking? http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/clutchadjustment.html (had new Nissan clutch Feb 2000 - no track days, never raced or rallied) TIA - Gio ------------------

Hi All, Finally got my tension rod bushes replaced at the weekend. Main reason was to try and stop the awful clunking noises I get when applying the brakes in reverse, can't be healthy!! There is a slight improvement and I reckon it's handling better but I still have the clunk - worse on the passenger side than drivers. Can the caliper mounts themselves become worn and noisy?? What else could it be? I think AndyDuff has mentioned top suspension linkages.... The replacement bushes are a slightly wider bore than the originals meaning there is a small amount of free play between the bolt and the sleeve - is this normal?? Thanks in advance! RobH

I'm selling my 300ZX TT as much as it kills me to do so! It's a 1990 import, imported about 3-4 years ago with about 73K on the clock. It started out as an auto but I've converted it to a Manual. That means that you've got all the torque of the auto engine with the flexibility of a manual box. Lets put it this way, my brother has an auto 300ZX TT & my car will leave it for dead (Sorry Dave if your reading this!). I've got a full engineers report to say that the conversion is A1. I'm asking £4500 for the car because it is in excellent condition. The only real defect is that the laquer is peeling off the tailgate. I don't know why though because the re…

I am very very happy with the results. I got the first place in my category (Nitro II). I just want to say that with 110shot of NOS (Wet Kit) and Blitz intake i did 12.1sec 1/4. Thats amazing. I am sure i could have hit 11's if I knew how to do a proper burnout. No Boost (boost went up to 13PSI when NOS kicks in). Strip interior (i used stock seat). Brand new slicks. I also removed exhaust system (replace with 3" pipes) 1st test run: I couldnt do a burnout of my slicks (actually i never did). Against an MR2 turbo with 150 shot if Nos. He did 14's something. Me 12.1 with bad start. 2nd run: Against a bone stock 300ZX N/A with 200 shot of NOS. He did 14'…

Yep, they have, every time I now get to the point of ecstacy and I'm moving like a super-stud on heat, this image enters my head and my moment of ecstacy is not achieved, the image renders me deflated, slightly nauseous and very limp, do you think it is possible to seek Pzikyatrik help on the NHS or perhaps we can turn back the clock to the blissful time when I just didn't know that John Major was eating Currie most evenings. Bastards.
