Hi all, My first time on the forum. I'm looking at Kicking my 97 WRX out of bed as I've fell in love with an older girl (G plate N/A fairlady) After a quick check over the paint work is top notch original condition, 18" split rims but no leather and of course no TT. I've always loved to mess around under the bonnet and I was wondering if I could do a conversion and drop the twins in later, are the engines the same spec ie. pistons etc or is this just to much hassle, the thing is I have looked at a 450BHP Twin but its been thrashed and the paint was terrible, there's not many around up my end of the country and I'm going to do the deal tomorrow ( If i get any sleep t…

I painted my calipers the other day wih Halfords heat proof paint (bloke recomended it to me) ever since then when the brakes get hot (after about 40mins driving) they make a sort of crunching sound when i put the brake on. In fact the longer i drive it the worse it gets! Ive taken the wheel off and had a decent look but it seems fine. Has anyone had this prob before? Thanks for any help- Mike

I've got a local engineering comapany to make me one of these up and wondered if anyone else is interested in them. The only thing I have asked them to change, is the size of the flange so you have something to pull the thing out, as it's a snug fit. If anyone is interested, they're £20 plus what ever the shipping cost is.

The bloke from 3g brakes just sold me some Mintex 1144 pads (fronts) to go with my 20GR discs. I've heard these are quite a hard compound? Anyone used them and will they wear out my new discs in a few weeks?

Hi All, Following on from my post about a dodgy temperature sensor - my revs don't drop quickly when releasing the accelerator. It seems like the throttle isn't snapping shut, gently closing instead...(?) Is this likely? Worn springs perhaps? It's most noticeable when engine is cold, changing between gears at low revs - the revs actually go up a bit to about 2000 rpm before dropping. Idle speed is also too high - just below 1100 rpm when warm. Any advice appreciated... RobH PS I've looked at MacieJ's erratic idle pages already.

Hi guys... and girls if there are any? I need some help and thought it was about time I joined this site.... I am currently in-between 300zx's after an affair with a skyline, man she was dirty, and I'm looking to go back to a wholesome 300zx twinturbo manual. My original H plate 1991 non-turbo in black was my favourite car to date (and I have had them all - preludes, skylines, supras etc). To be honest I can't believe that 300's are now so cheap, they are way better than the current Jap stuff that is available - including the new 350Z - it's a pussy compared to the 300!! and also the new RX-8 ? mmm my non-turbo 300 was faster than that..!! Anyway…

I can't turn me headlights on me zed.....with out emptying the entire contents of the washer bottle lol.. Even switching on the side lights causes the silly headlamp soakers to activate...First noticed it when I flashed someone to come pass and got showered..... Anybody had this problem before, guess it must be a relay somewhere that's failed, still if no joy I'll just disconnect the blasted headlamp washer motor..... But on more of a positive note I have no more irritating noises from the engine thanks to Mr Duffman as he worked his magic with a 60K service, thanks again Andy!!!;) No more prop vibes thanks to a new centre bearing and gearbox mount, oh &…

my 'mate' offered to fit a foglight (for a price) so that my import 300zx tt could be mot'd tomorrow. mot is booked.... fitted the foglight yesterday. i tested the light after he went and not only did the foglight not work, my rear lights (passenger side)are not working either too now (except for brake light). yes, he is a cowboy, my fault for trying to get things on the cheap. today - after waiting for him all day to turn up and him ignoring my calls, he's turned up an hour ago after me tracking him down in person, it's now getting dark, and the light/foglight are still not working. He thinks it's a fuse somewhere in a fuseboard he cant find... …

Hi All, My ecu temp sensor has seen better days, the plastic housing on both the sensor and the loom connector are cracked and the metal retaining clip has long since disappeared. Anyone got any bright ideas about repairing this effectively? Best I can come up with is hard wiring a new connector onto the temp sensor pins and loom...reckon I'll have to break away what's left of the existing plastic to make a repair easier/better. I'm having some erratic (high) idling issues and I think this may be the cause. TPS is fine. Any onther suggestions? Thanks in advance RobH
