Ive purchased some digital gauges for turbo etc anyone know how to wire/connect them as the instructions are useless thanks

Putting the zed back together and under the steering wheel there are 2 black air channel boxes. How the F**K do you put the big one in? I have removed the smaller one but when I try and twist it in and up into the part behind the center console, it just wont go!!! Ive spent nearly 45 minutes now laying in awkward positions, twisting and turning the pipe. Im presuming it goes in that side first then into the right hand side for the door vent shaft afterwards.

Not a problem, just after some info. Collected my 1991 TT import on Tuesday and have fallen instantly in love :bow: :bow: Its has many trick bits on it :hyper: one of which is the boost gauge. Its an aftermarket one - MINES ??? been told this is a good one? It reads in kg/cm though, so what is the converion to psi ?? cheers Dai

hi all, firstly its a tt, i have a chip & boost jets (not sure what sort, whatever z world use), free flow filter & exhaust (not brand makes). what is the max safe(ish) power i can build on the standard internals, dont mind fitting turbo's etc if necessary, is there a good series of stages to build good power or is it a case of buy all at once, then fit? thanks in advance for any help/advice, steve

Got one! Well pleased, was worth the wait and looking around. 1995 on an M plate with 68k on the clock. Drove it home from Manchester and she drives like a dream. Everything nice and tight and no rattles, everything seems to work fine. Temp stayed just halfway, and oil prressure just under halfway. No service history, so going to get cambelt service etc done and put some good oil in. Thanks to all who gave me advice etc. Nice one guys. Hi guys im about to do a manual conversion on my SWB Surely the 2+2 propshaft is longer so can i just change the front UJ for a manual one? If anyones done this and can give us some advice pray tell TA. :confused:

Hi All. Having fitted the decat and cat back exhaust I am about to fit an apexi air filter but am wondering if the induction is now going to be beyond the limits of the maf and ecu resulting in lean running. If this is the case is it time to get the ecu chipped and a boost controler fitted ,I take it that will sort it out. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Right on the series 2 PTU pins it has E1 to E6 which relates to the coilpacks I guess, marked 1-6 on the series 1 PTU. The pins on the other side of the series 2 PTU has 1,2,3 G 4,5,6 and on the series 1 they are 1,2,3,4,5,6 E. I presume the G is for ground/earth which is also E on the series 1.. Hope this makes sense, can anybody confirm this is correct... :hyper: I'm relocating my PTU, but I don't have the connectors so I'm gonna make a new loom up, just want to make sure of the connections ;) cheers Jon..

Hello, some of you know me and some of you dont, however those that do will know that I never usually moan about things, however I feel that it is time I did, I have noticed a couple of traders making comments on this particular post. We have a chap who has openly registered as a user on the forum in the last couple of days, openly selling parts from his car (so he says). When it is suggested that he becomes a member he says he`s going to join after he`s sold his parts....that`s a joke if ever I heard one. As an official trader on the forum I had to go through the proper channels to become one, we all pay to be traders whereas he`s just openly selling parts and hasn`t ev…

I NEED HELP!!!! why when i back off the throttle my car backfires and jerks about like a ten dollar whore, Its doing my head in :headvswal also when its cold it misses like blind darts player, and when its warm it only misses like a short sighted darts player lol, its using a lot of petrol (put £20 in and get a max of 50 miles and thats taking it easy) done a ecu check and got a 55, but it doesnt seem to boost very well now (my stock gauge is knackered). the thins that i have done so far is as follows 1: changed injector conns 2: checked all other electrical conns including dett sensor and temp sensor 3: took off and checked afm (seems ok) but if any one wants to…

i know its a common fault for the zeds to smell of petrol, which mine does. so i got the fuel line kit in the group buy from smithy, actually i got sent 2 sets for the price of one.....cheers paul ;)!!!!!!!! (cant keep it though!). The kit looks very tidy but it hasnt totally eliminated the smell, although has helped. ive had a good sniff in the engine bay and it seems to be coming from the passenger side rear of engine, near the battery. ive tightened all the hoses i can see but was wondering if theres any others ive missed? :mad: any help would be appreciated!

Just wondering really! I've had an intermittent rough running problem for ages, but more recently I've noticed that the longer I run the car for before setting off, the less likely I am to have a problem. Usually now I leave it for about 90s before driving off, which is hardly warm I know, but seems to help; however my drive to work is only 15 mins through a town, and quite often when I pull up and dip the clutch at the end of my journey the engine revs up to 1500rpm. Only if I wait for about 15s does it then drop down to 600ish. Again, if I warm the car up for longer, the less it tends to happen. Wondering if anyone else has had anything similar? Mark

not sure if box is going but the gear changes dont seem to be as smooth and when i go in to park it seems to now tick over at nearly 1900rpm instead of my norm 650ish, any ideas what this prob is??? :confused:

I know the conzult is a diagnostioc program etc but is it as simple as downloading the trial one and getting a lead to plug into my laptop?? ;)

as some know ill be doing the ecu check later but reading some previous posts. I cant understand ? if it is det then it only runs certain boost ie 6.5 well my cars boost goes right round to just before the 7 mark which according to some prev threads is almost 14 psi :eek: BUT it still only gets to 60 in about 8-9 seconds so could it not be the det??? but another thing is i know its not supposed to be accurate but there is no way my car is running almost a bar of boostI think I would have felt it Im going doolally!! chris :D how do I figure out the flashes on the ecu check?? it says long flash short flash then it gives you …

In the last couple of days noticed a smell of fuel.... this morning when i got in - it was so bad that I thought it was dangerous. So I opened the bonnet and found a loose hose clamp under the plenum cover... i managed to tighten the screw with 10 turns!! Great - drove to work without being under the influence of fuel inhalation. Parked up and noticed water pouring out from under the car. If you look from the passenger side just behind the front wheel under the passenger footwell there is a hose - the water seems to be coming from there.... Any ideas what this hose connects to? Thanks

When I have been out for a blast my cooling system seems to be pressurizing, if I try to remove the cap it will shoot water every where and the two front hose are really firm, is this normal. it does not overheat or seem to be losing water though. Cheers

Are any of these any good and worth while fitting? What do they actually do?
