General Discussions - 300ZX Related

You guys seem really good at sorting out problems, hope you can help with this one. Just before i come to a stop and sometimes when driving really slow i can hear a squeal from the passanger side, can only hear it with the passanger window down, so it ain't to loud. It sounds like rubber against rubber kinda like the noise you get if your tyre touches the kerb when parking, though i aint parking. Can't determine if its coming from front or back of passanger side. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great, cheers in advance.

Has anyone heard of 9" wheels being fitted to the front of a 300zx? I can't find anyone whose done this, but I was poking around today and I thought it didn't look to difficult to create a bit more space under the wings. Am I just being stupid? If it was that easy to modify surely everyone would be doing it wouldn't they?

Saw another grey ZX in Herts..... On the M25 heading clockwise between Potter's Bar and the A10 this afternoon around 1-1.30. It was a L reg, in the nearside lane in heavy-ish traffic. I was in the outside lane heading the other way in a red ZX. Richard :cool:

Saw a grey ZX parked outside a pub (can't remember the name of it) in Chorleywood this morning on the A404 just before the M25 junction. Private reg - G8*** Anyone?

:cry: :cry: lost the gearbox on m25 last night. :cry: :cry: stuck in loads of traffic, started slipping when moving away. eventually lost drive completely! after pulling over, stopping and restarting engine got drive back for a short time(although slipping like mad). limped home like this having to stop repeatedly, probably doing more damage on the way :cry: :cry: i'm embarassed to say the i bought an autobox cooler last summer from chris @greddy but never got round to fitting it. anyone got any cheering words of advice, am too depressed to look through search history for ideas. nick

when I changed my brake pads on the front out came original pads with a shim and a plate on each pad now when I put the ebc pads in the instructions made it sound like you only put the plate supplied by ebc back when you put the pads in so I scrapped the shims etc the one supplied by ebc are like and adhesive piece of metal but thats all I put in on each brake pad.. now my brakes make a loud embarassing scuffing noise on every rotation over 20mph and when I apply the brakes its a loud long ssssssccccchhhhhh!! discs and pads are all new! and theyve doen a few miles now so I dont reckon its anything to do with breaking in the pads etc Im wonderi…

The white one at 9:15, around J33 heading East. Had a high wing and slotted nose panel. The red one at 18:10, around J41 (Port Talbot) heading West. Looked stock. If either of you saw an MR2 heading the other way with 2 bikes strapped to the engine cover I was in that one! (Jay300ZX's 2nd motor- give him a car, and he'll find a way to stick bikes on it!) OK - I have had a water leak (Not radiator) for about a week, its not a big leak - I lose about a pint every 24 hours! I have replaced the two front engine short water pipes, the thermostat, the radiator cap and I have two more pipes to fit in the current kit - Water Hose Outlet, and Water Hose Inlet! 92410-30P00 92400-30P00 Dont laugh... I CANT SEEM TO FIND THEM????? I assume they are attached to the heater matrix somewhere but have no idea..... Any heads-up appreciated! Also today for the first time I actually seem some water drip from my car - but right down underneath just under the drivers door handle almost! I jacked her up and it seems the wat…

Right! Insurance companies. Why is it that I have spent the last 4 hours on the phone to these *******s discussing the car and the fact its imported and the fact its got mods and the fact that I am 28 and where I live and what colour underwear I'm wearing. I then ring around another few companies before ringing them back to accept - only to find that when they do the "official" quote it is a grand (yes thats £1000) more expensive. This has been done by Bell Direct (went up 500 quid), Firebond and Adrian Flux (went from 1400 to over 2300). ****ing outrageous!! hi my car wich is a 1992 300zx uk tt manual is misfireing when it gose over 1500revs its ok below that and its ideling ok is well so come on guys what can it be ptu? afm? would be great full for any help thanks :bow:

One thing I'm considering is having the Z delocked and the handles removed and getting it to pop open on reote fob. Anyone any ideas on who will do it and what it might cost?

I just drove my first Z, a manual N/A, F**KIN nice! was quicker than i expected but then I am used to drivin a 5 series beemer lol. One thing i did notice was a very slight whine coming from the box under acceleration should this be a worry? Chris.

Hi everyone. I am about to venture into changing my steering wheel. I have taken the old one off and noticed that where the wires are for the horn and C/Control are there is a disc with loads of slots with one larger slot. I have no idea what this disc is for I can see it runs through a module or something that the wires are attatched to. Can anyone tell me what this is please and is it ok to totally disconnect it? Hi all, MOT has revealed excessive end float in the ball joint part of the lower link, me thinks it cannot be adjusted, so what is the best way to go? remove and lock out the hicas or buy new lower links?? Who is best to buy links from or even the the lock out bar?? :headvswal
