Got my stock car dyno'd today. Not enthralled with the result- only 192 bhp at the wheels, but 241 lb/ft torque. If someone could cast their expert eye over the numbers I'd appreciate it- I just really want to know if they stack up and for some reason my engine just isn't that powerful, or whether the run itself looks dubious. They didn't measure the other useful bits of info, like A/F ratio, etc... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=51672 Cheers... Mark

A mate of mine has just replaced both tubs on his zed and is getting white smoke from exhaust. We have compare his car agains mine to make sure all the pipes are on correctly and no problem there. I have done a ECU check and code 55 so no problem there. When car is started there is no smoke, when I checked his exhaust there seems to be a lot more pressure coming from the driver side than the passenger, the passenger side is slightly smoking. When car heats up white smoke starts too poor out of passenger side, and when reved from both sides, it totally swamps the street. We are really at a loss as to what's causing this and any help would be appreciated.

Air con back to working well again. :hyper:

Anybody got any ideas? Speedo not working, replaced speedo sender, worked for about a mile and then stopped. Been crawling underneath it, checked all the wires, give them a clean, checked what I could see. Went for another drive, worked again for a mile, then started working intermittantly. Can anyone give me some advice???

I've contacted a few companies about converting my NA to TT with varying prices. My NA engine has blown and thought i'd take the opportunity to think about a conversion. My gearbox is good. I've had a few... let's say "varied quotes" :D :nono: So I was wondering. How much do YOU think is reasonable for a garage to charge labour for a (1)straight engine swap for my NA (labour only, iv'e got a recon lined up) (2)for plugging a TT in instead (labour only. all parts supplied by me) Please post your labour only guesses or preferably quotes of work you've actually had undertaken. I'm thinking 1/2 days work for two people tops.

Hi, Is it possible to change the universal joint on the steering column without getting underneath the car? It's difficult to access from the top but if there were some other way i'd give it a go myself. cheers.

driving home today had a bit of a race with a porsche..beat it but pulled up, idling and suddenly smoke starts coming out from the bonnet and under the car and through the vents...looked under the car and in the middle literally just behind where you sit where it seems the exhaust splits (sorry not sure what this bit is..the cat?) there was smoke coming from here, im guessing the smoke coming from the engine was coming up from here too... just checked the oil and the level seems ok...but after hard driving the smoke was very bad...normal driving its ok...Ryan has recently fixed the big end and fixed a crankseal, but did say there was a possible tiny leak still...woul…
