Hi All, some time ago I posted a thread on here asking for advice on a funny noise I had on my Z. Allways hard to give help on a noise on a forum without hearing it. But I suspected bottom end. Anyway, no one had any real idea, so I stripped the bottom end, in the car. I had some very poor advice, not from here, about how hard this was and how long it would take. Basically I was told it was a pig of a job and would take many hours. My son and I had the sump off and the bearings inspected in about 2 hours. It was so easy. Upon inspection there was no sign of problems, until I looked at the thrust bearings of the main bearing shells. One side was worn to th…

I'm going through my options for my first mods to my Zed. It's just had an uprated auto box fitted. Picking it up tomorrow!!! :D I've nearly finished pricing up a body kit, about 2k. However, I'm also looking at upgrading the suspension.... My wishlist so far is Adjustable shocks Rose jointed front arms Upper front adjustable arms Lower front adjustable arms Front and rear lower anti-sway bars Front and rear strut brace Skyline brake upgrade Poly Bushes Anything else needed?? Done lots of reading up on the subject but still unsure on which shocks to fit. I really fancy some in car adjustable ones as I dont want a spine jolting ride al…

Hi all, can anyone help? Got a bad petrol smell at the minute. Its coming from the small hole (breather) where you fill up with petrol, thing is the juice looks like its leaking / squirting out of that hole, does this mean to much back pressure in the petrol tank or is it caused by a petrol return pipe??? Any help much appreciated.

Just noticed in the last few days that the parking brake light on the dash hasn't been going out when I release the hand brake. Some times it stays on all the way to work, other times only half way. Excuse my ignorance but is the light just a hand brake warning light or is it also a low fluid or pad wear indicator?

Hi Guys, I hope you are all well. I have a bit of a problem. 2000 miles ago the clutch went on Cerina's 300zx NA SWB. apparently it was pretty messed up. The Slave and Master had to be replaces as well as the clutch and the pivot ball. Recently Cerina has been driving her car in to work (Kengsington). She has to call the RAC as the clutch started slipping i all gear. The clutch possibly got too hot but I've never seen or heard of this before. We got the car transported back to te garage where the clutch was fitted as we know they said that it had a years warrently. The garage are now saying that they have pulled the box and checked the cclutch …

  14. Hi all, Anyone got any ideas:- I met someone down the road from my parents over the weekend with a nice silver TT. He has had a problem with rev/speed limiting coming on. It started some time ago at about 130mph and has gradually dropped down and is now coming on well under 100. He has had it de-restricted and thinks it might be something to do with this. Cheers Dave ps told him to get on the forum, so maybe we'll here from him.

Just like to say thanks very much to all the great people on here who helped me in my aim to create the ultimate Z (By my standards anyway). As of saturday, i sold the Zed, to a good friend who im sure will look after and cherish her as much as i have done in the last three years. Im really sorry to see her go - but im staying with the darkside as i will be picking up a lovely new GTR 32 Skyline on Saturday. Like i said, thanks to you all - you are mainly a great bunch of guys who give valuable support for the normal Zed enthusiast. I have quite a few spares knocking about so ill get them posted up in the sales section when i get a minute. Goodbye my lovel…

I have owned a white, L reg 300ZX Fair Lady Convertible (non turbo) for the last 4 years. I am about to enter the housing market and unfortunately Eliza has to go. How much could I expect to sell her for? She's in reasonable condition for the year and I have had her serviced regularly. I live in Buckinghamshire.

Hi Could anyone give me some advice? I am trying to do a bit of research around servicing costs, what to look for in zx, etc before I buy one. I've got about 4000grand to spend on one. Is this enough to get a decent one or should I be thinking of stretching the budget a bit more? I would be grateful for any experiences or advice you could share to help. Cheers! :D Paul

Hi guys, Spent most of today replacing the front discs and pads on the zed exactly as on the tt.net website and got through it all okay But when i tried the car to test them the pedal just seems to go right to the floor while only applying minimal braking. if you pump it a few times it gives more pressure but just drops away again if you dont touch the pedal for a bit. pretty sure i didnt get any air in but could be wrong and positive the master cylinder is okay because they worked fine before hand but just squeaked cause the pads were shot. Does it sound like it needs bleeding? will i have to do this from the caliper or the abs unit? Any ideas ? any…

  21. How do i know when i've got a boost problem? i've got only the standered boost guage and also got a boost controller fitted. I noticed the other day, i can't get the needle to reach 7psi if i'm on low, high or off. i was under the impression that the needle would go off the dial if i was running 14psi but even when i turn the controller off it still doesn't hit 7psi but not far off. what does this mean?
