One of the guys at today's meet, has decatted his car a few weeks ago, all has been fine untill today. He checked the oil level on wednesday, and it was half way between the 2 marks, and no oil was added then. He drove must be 50 miles to the meet today, no problem, then we ragged the cars for a good 20 miles, again all was fine. Stopped for some food, and when we went to leave, the rifht (drivers) bank was smoking quite a lot, it smoked for a while, we topped the oil up, approx 1-11/2ltr, and again started it, smoke was visable for a while, and disappeared after a minutes driving. we stopped again after a few mins, and had a drink, and since then, the ca…

The car misfires when its hot. Some times it just wont go over 4000-5000rpm and its almost on hot days when the engine is hot too. Also when driving home on the motorway, the accelerator just stopped working while acclerating from 80mph. The car started to slow down. I had to let off the accelerator for a sec and then apply it again before it started to respond. My thoughts are A) PTU over heating. Its roughly the same symptoms I had when my PTU failed. IM thinking with the hot days and the fact my engine has been running quite a bit hotter lately that its over heating. B) The fuel is evoporating before getting into the cylinders because it so hot. …

Hi guys I have just bought a 300zx auto tt 1992 uk car in red... its fkin excellent! its got 37k miles and fnsh! basically Jim Marshall the founder of Marshall amplification (famous among musicians) was the first/last owner and only occasionally used it. got it for £6500... always been garaged and MOTs & FNSH etc verifies the milage. the cambelt was changed in 2003 but was at 33k miles. the car is like brand new, my dad whos mechanically competant checked it for me, and i looked at all the buyers guides and it looks all good. Hi, Had an unusual thing happened a couple of times, just wondered if anyone had any ideas. When accelerating fairly hard the car got to about 5500 revs ish and then some kind of limiting came on, a bit like the rev limiter when you go to high. The car jerked when this happened and the boost seemed to drop off, then everything was fine again. I am running an e-01 boost controller and afc ,maybe these are kicking in with some kind of safety mechanism? Its only happened twice and the car was fine for the rest of the long drives. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas? I've got an hks induction that isnt really protected from the rain but it wasn't raining on one of those…

about 6 month ago i fitted a short shifter and where the shifter connects to the linkage there is a long bolt. so i done this up really tight and then wasn't able to put the car in gear, so i kept loosining this bolt until i was happy it went it to gear easy enough (me being a wimp :D ). anyway this was fine until last weekend my gears went mad and felt like whatever gear it was in as if it was in neutral so i assumed it was this bolt which today i found out it was. the long bolt was half out and luckly found the nut next to the shaft so how can i do this nut up without it coming off? i can't do it up reallly tight as it's then so tight i have to use two hands …

Scratching my head so much i've worn a hole in it????????? I had a problem with my Profec B Spec 2 controller after driving over a bump in the road (i think this night have something to do with it). I parked the car 2 minutes later then after about 2 hours drove off with no boost on either LOW or HIGH all i was getting was 0.5bar..... Checked and double checked all electrical connections to the solenoid and the controller. Solenoid definately working as when i apply a current i can hear it click. Also i have power to the controller and all the settings are still there. Also double checked all the hoses and all are connected fine with no apparent air leaks.Gav…
