Could you guys please advise on the best management systems there are for the 300zx? I'm planning to use X2 GT2530 blowers, 740cc injectors, and a single twin in/outlet FMIC and 3" bore pipe work and exhaust system (where 3" will fit and as big as poss else where), I'm looking for a minimum 600HP I want to use a standalone management system, the Apexi Power FC would have been perfect for me but it apears that you can't get 1 for the 300zx :headvswal (unless anyone knows any different) so could you guys please give me examples of systems that are similar to that. Hi people..Im new to zeds having just bought a 90 n/a that has a few good points and a few bad as I have discovered..Car has been sitting for 8 months..Does anyone know about the brakes? The lines are very rusty and the brakes do not work as well as they should..the pads and discs are fine..no leaks from cylinders or lines..I just thought that 4 wheels disc brakes would work better..do your zeds brakes work fine in a standard form?? Also the power steering is leaking from somewhere and it makes whining noises as I turn the steering wheel...Is this a major problem? The steering is hard then it starts working agin sometimes..does anyone know a place that is Zed friendly t…

Anyone heard of a Recaro special? On my rear light cluster it says 'recaro special' this isn't a sticker seems to be inside the plastic. I also have recaro seats, however I suspect they are not from the Nissan factory as they do not plug in to the seatbelt warning light connectors. Could just be where a sticker once lived and over the years it's faded the plastic and the sticker was removed leaving an imprint??? Anyone. PS. Having recaro's in 300 is fantastic.

Hi Guys Still in the quest to correct my 90 import TT's dodgy (sometimes) idle, i have found something that seems to cure it (apart from turning on the air con!). Ive done the usual throttle body clean etc etc, but still no joy? In the engine bay, by the battery there is a small black box (25mm x 25mm approx). It is screwed verticaly to the cars inner wing. It has connected a couple of small hoses, mainly going to the intake/plenum system and a electrical connector. If I disconnect one of the hoses (the one leading to the plenum), the car idles perfectly? What is this part, what does it do and is it needed? Is this a common problem? Thanks in advance …

Any idea why my turbo gauge is sitting only just under the halfway point when idleing and driving normally? Its a uk car and when I bought it I was told that it should sit there but now I know it shouldn't and should be on -14 psi. Is it a turbo problem or could it be something else? Cheers GLENN

I only live about 10 miles from where I work (yeah, yeah, I know I should walk, cycle, bus etc!) so consequently I do very few miles a year. So far this year I've racked up only 2500. Would a 300ZX be suitable/reliable enough to use on a daily basis for work, plus the occasional weekend excursion? Or does a 10 year old supercar need TLC to keep it in good working order? Thanks in advance for your advice!

This is something which very rarely happens but it happens enough to piss me off. Every now and again my zed goes dead. I'll be driving along and when i press the accelerator nothing happens. The car is still running but it just doesnt rev. I'll come of the accelerator and when i press it again its fine. On the way home from PPS however, this happened and the engine light came on. The car seemed to be missing. I pulled up at the side of the road, turned it off, waited a second or 2 and turned it back on again. Everything was fine after that. I did noticed when this happened that the rev counter bounced up and down erratically. Any ideas? Cheers Scott

Ok, we can maybe get something printed on the back of these so we can use them afterwards. It has to be simple though. I was thinking of the above with http://www.300zx.co.uk in a nice modern type face underneath. Can someone knock this up and the correct size for a circular tax disc? My zed has a bad vibration from the front at around 75mph. Its perfectly smooth up to 70 and fine and dandy after 80. When i brake at around 75 the vibration is terrible. I thought it might have been warped discs but if i slam on the anchors at any speed above/below that, its as smooth as you like. Any ideas whats causing it? My wheels have just been balanced. The guy at my mates work said he couldnt do the 4 wheel lase allignment because my bumper was too low. :confused: Could dodgy front tyres cause this? I just have a temporary set on just now which were lying around my mates gatrage. Thanks in advance guys Scott

Hi all, I find myself in the enviable position to spend some hard-earned on my Zed :hyper: . I've already ordered some nice 18" wheels, and since this is putting the insurance up anyway I thought I might as well go the whole hog (or at least start some mods). Since my stock exhaust has developed a small blow on both sides (so I can justify a new one to 'er indoors) I NEED to replace it ( :dance: ). Consensus seems to be Mongoose or Blue Flame (keep thinking Blue Cow - that's what kids do to you!). Where can I get these on the cheap!!! Anyone have any other recommendations? Pulled into Safeway carpark, strange grining boise as i stopped! Put in neutral, noise worse, put in drive and went around car park, noise went away. did shopping, came back - no drive. just whirring away? Its a 91 NA, with 90k. Anaway as panic started to setin I tried 2nd worked ok to get me going, put back into drive at about 20mph- nothing. had to get home so carried on. got up to about 35, put into drive, everything ok 3rd and 4th came into play no slip? but whed i had to slow down and pick up speed againbeloe 30, slipping or no drive and had to put it back to 2nd then ok again. is it really worthwhile me buying a grounding kit? i have no intention of modding the engine up, and im not interested in upgrading the chip either, its fast enough already. but i have been told a grounding kit is a worthwhile buy is it needed on my jap 2str swb?

A couple of months ago i noticed an oil leek at right hand, top corner, of engine, and didnt think to much of it. In the last week i have noticed some blue smoke coming from the exhaust on start up, it goes away once you move of. From doing a search on the forum i assume that i have a faulty Pressure Control Valve. If anyone of you knowledgeable guys or girls could confirm my conclusion i would be greatful. Cheers David
