Hello Chappies, had my car MOT'd yesterday and it nearly failed due to corrosion (read: leaking) on the down pipes. The garage has managed to patch them up so that the car passed but it has given me the perfect opportunity to fit De-Cats. I have searched on the Forum for info on the Cat removal but i am unsure of how much work is involved. Is there anyone out there that can give me a blow by blow account of how they removed theirs. I've been told by the garage that they are unsure what to do with the AIV hoses (pre-cat) and also the sensors just after the cat (Temp sensors?). The De-cat i have includes the turbo elbow and my car is a 91TT J-Spec. Any h…

Should I be getting any noise from my tubs? I only get a real noticeable whistle on wind up, even gentle acceleration when cold and then that's only heard for about a minute or two.

My Uk 1993 TT has a head gasket problem and I just wondered how much it would be worth in this condition. It's a series 2, in really good condition, leather is immaculate, brand new turbo's,standard car, original nissan mats and targa covers, no mods, full service history with nissan manuals etc. I've spent over £1500 on it recently and can't really afford to spend any more. Any one any thoughts?

Hello everybody, I have warped discs and I am planning on fitting new discs and pads next week. The problem is I think the caliper on the front left is slightly seized. what is the best option here? should I be looking at rebuilding the caliper? Or is there a fairly cheap aftermarket caliper that I can bolt on? Thanks in advance. Mike...

Basically one of my igniton coils would keep burning out even after replacement. I think one of the guys on this site said it cud be that the connector was inserted the wrong way round. My mechanics took a look at it, and burnt 2 more coil igniton units, one at the top and one in the middle. They told me that it must be the ignition control. So basically im asking anyone on this forum for advice, whether it is the control thingy n how much do they go for? Or does this sound dodgy?

Well.... My problem is this... The last couple of months ive noticed that when the car got stuck in traffic or it got rather hot then I was unable to engage first gear or reverse...all the others worked fine. I can dis-engage without a problem and once out of first gear its fine goin into and out of the others...no nasty noises or anything. Well today it got worse to the point where my Zed is now stuck on the drive :headvswal cant select 1st or Reverse...and secound is now becoming tricky. I can change gears easily if engine is not running. The clutch is NOT slipping..I have tried beleive me :hyper: When or if i eventually am able to select a gear …

Hi all, Got a problem and wondered if anyone had any ideas or have fitted one. I've got an ac autotechnic oil adapter plate from chrisgreddy. The cars gone into AP motors in plymouth to get fitted with oil temp and pressure gauges. They phoned earlier to let me know that the thread part of the plate def wont fit into the engine, its too shallow. They tried it on a skyline and it fitted (although was too long). Chris has not had problems with them not fitting before. I've ordered a greddy one but they wont be in till next week. Hopefully that'll fit but I can't understand why this one wont. The garage are a performance jap specialist so not just back road grease monk…

  11. My air-con recently blew out its pressure release valve and I need a replacement, according to my air-con man. He takes care of cars mostly, but isn't familiar with 300s. I have the blown unit which a small part (I'm not so engine-technical!), which is basically a hexagonal shape, 16mm across the flats, about 30mm long with about a 3/8" thread at one end. It screws into a pipe near the pump. I took it to a NISSAN service centre and they couldn't indentify this part, saying I'd probably have to buy a complete pipe section which included it. Seems crazy if the valve is all I need, especially if they want to fit a complete pipe too. Anyone any experience …

Got the car running yesterday, but could not get it to idle at all it would bounce from 500rpm to 800-100rpm then cut out  when first sarting it I guess there is some sort of inrichment device as it runs fine then 10seconds later it will start hunting. Its had a new harness fitted all the contacts are clean, had played with the tps no help, my only doubt is the MAF as the new air filters sit near the vent betweet the head lights and could have got wet, if the maf was fook or faulty would this give these symtoms? either that or it could be thew idle control valve?

Driving to work this morning and the first mile or so the car seemed to be missing. I could just slightly feel it through the steering wheel. After a couple of mile it seemed to clear up. Nothing major, it's just that it's never done this before. Driving back from work tonight, the idle was high when at junctons, at about 1200 ~ 1300 RPM. Tried to give the throttle a little tap but wouldn't drop. Made sure the AC was off and just the same. After 5 or 6 taps on the throttle it would drop back to 750. Put car in garage and still 1200. Tried again, to hit the throttle, but took half a dozen times for it to drop to 750. Any ideas?? Cheers Steve

Hi there guyz & gals. Firstly I'd just like to say hello, this is my first post. :nana2: I'm thinking of trading my Suzuki Bandit1200 in a straight swap deal for my first Zed. The Zed I'm trading for is an H-reg twin turbo targa top Auto (fairlady) and I wanted to know what and where to check on the car for faults, as I love my bike but with second child on the way, i thought it'd be best to try and feed my need for speed on 4 wheels rather than 2, and wouldn't want to trade the Bandit for a pile of kaka. cheers in advance for any help given Bandit... Out...
