Had my front registration plate stolen at the weekend, turned out according to Five O that it was stolen to avoid the London congestion charge. Anyway, they ripped the dam thing off and now there is a metal plate behind it, which for the life of me, I cannot get off as its well and truly bolted on from inside the bumper area. Is there an easy or easier way of getting this plate off, so that I can stick my new plate on, as at the moment, it would look odd sticking my new plate on as it sticks out too much, but the square plate that was on there before didn't due to its smaller size? And lastly, they damaged the rear square plate as well, but the likes of Hal…

Not happy at all about this but want to ask advice first before i take this further????? I've bought a Profec B spec 2 controller off a trader and discovered around 3 months of having it the thing just stopped working. I was told to try lots of differents checks which i did changed all the hoses checked and double checked everything till there was nothing else to do but sent it back. Rather than doing the decent thing and swapping it for a new one i was told it had to go back to the states for testing. This took two months and i was told there was nothing wrong with it,no test report no nothing just "it works". Still not convinced i decided to take it a…

300zx TT winter maintenance. I'm planning on not to drive mine during the winter period, as we can have quite a lot of snow here where I live, and they spread salt on the roads, which would cause the car to start rusting. Is there something special you would recommend me to do when I have it standing in a garage for four to six straight months? I assume it would be good for the battery to be re-charged every now and then, but how about the rest of the car?

My zed comes with a Momo steering wheel, but the CC has be disconnected. Now, instead of placing a button on the dash or something, I was thinking about trying to get hold of the cc and indicator stalks from the US. They come up on US ebay from time to time and seem cheap enough. Has anyone done this? IIRC, the indicators are on the left hand side of the steering wheel like most European motors. This correct? Ta

Left the ignition on for about 5 mins yesdy while the missus was sat in the car while i chatted to a m8, just to save the alarm auto-arming, no engine running tho!!, i know, i know, easy way to screw coil pack's i know, stupid of me, but the car started within half a turn as normal. 5 mins l8ter, pulled in for fuel, set alarm to valet mode, again while the missus sat there, came back to the car an the ignition lights came on really dim, then the alarm started going beswick like a voltage drop was trying to set it off an the car would'nt start without a jump from some leads, (auto see). But with the leads on it fired first time, an drove the 5 min journey home. My que…

The catch just went on the glovebox. Anyone know if they are easy to fix? Or does anyone have one going for a reasonable price? Chris.

As some of you may remember, I’m planning on buying a 300zx TT. Yesterday I where in the shop for the first time to check it out. Its probably the fastest car I’ve ever driven, even though the one I tried out was in safety-boost (or just had compression problems as the boost gauge wouldn’t even pass the +3,5psi line), and it had a something seriously wrong as it had this very uneven shaking coming trough the seat from the back. I tried to find the engine-number, but I couldn’t spot it anywhere. Where should it be located? It wasn’t on that little metal plate inside the hood, which the serial number and some other info stands on. Cheers :)

Hi All. Oh shit, I gave her a good thrashing today and now I seem to have a tapping coming from the engine mainly on the overrun when i back of the gas sounds horribly like a stretched rod. what I am wondering is are zx,s prone to this and can I get the pistons out the bottom of the engine with the crank out or do I need to take the heads off? Any advice would be appreciated as I havent had it very long and havent stripped one of these before.

Just taken my stock filter box out to fit apexi, but I am not sure what to do with the splash guard that is now only fixed at the front and is therefore a bit loose. Also the plastic intakes at each side which went into the stock airbox are a bit loose, what did people do with these bits?

As above. If its taking things apart and putting em back together then I can do that no problem but once we get into management stuff I'm stuffed and so frustrated I don't know where to look next. Should i start with new fuel regulators and pump. The ECU had problems that Camco sorted. Hosing and pipework all new and seem correct. This is all really getting me down and I really need help.

The markings on the alloys (standard) caught my eye today, i seem to have a mixed bag, ive got three with the code L40P05 and one with 40P00R. I guess i've got three left hand alloys and one right hand, whats the difference between a 40P05 and 40P00, or is it just that one is for left and the other right. I know the alloys are supposed to help cool the brakes, is there any other reason that means you shouldn't have a left on a right and vice versa? Cheers :(

As above. The online manual says use dot3. I went to my local car dealer who told me they no longer do dot3 & topping up with dot4 would be ok. Any one have any advice on what brake fluid to use & can you just top up with dot4 or will i have to drain & refill from scratch?
