The Green, yellow or white? or do i need to do something different everytime I locate the boss onto the (butchered) hicas/horn black plastic round part (which has 3 contacts - the green/yellow/white wires) - the horn goes off. Ive tried shorting all 3 together (like the boss is fitted) and it doesnt go off??????????? I have tried putting insulating tape in order over each one and if I cover the yellow contact the boss goes on without horn going of.. However - the horn doesnt work if i try and use it then ??? Any ideas please.

Does anyone know who has front shocks on the shelf, either OE or uprated? Car's just failed MOT on a weepy shock, hardly suprising as I suspect that they are the originals and the car has done 97K miles. :D Failing that, anyone got a nearside s/h shock that they want to get rid of, that way I can get the car through it's MOT and I can wait for the ones I want to come in from Aus'? Any suggestions appreciated. Tim

Dont ask me... changed the oil, coolant, shoved a nice new oil cooler on the front, HID lights and now I have electrical problems! And the fact that the car is smoking like a guy on weed. Anyway, anyone got any ideas? Try to start the car and all my electrics cut out. Got power if I dont start the car and the electrics works fine, if a bit slow. Did get a jump start but that never solved anything on top of the fact that my bloody wipers keeps coming on everytime I start the car. So if anyone can help cheers! :hyper:

Chuffed! Got a complete set of r34 calipers, discs and pads today. Only problem is I havn't got the mounting bolts for the front and was hoping to fit them before the UJCC track day on Monday. Does anyone relatively near the Bristol area have the four bolts or know where I can get them? Dave :hyper: :hyper: ps - to the people who are looking for the same, Lamb on the skyline forum is selling some. pm me and I'll give you the low down. Was only offering the front, and wouldn't budge from £800. They are what look like very good nick though and are v-spec r34.

guys im confused why so many people appear to disable the hicas on 300zx / skylines, i thought the idea was that the HICAS helped you with the handleing ? Am i to take it that even if the HICAS is in a well maintainned condition that its still not that great?

Ok guy's put your heads together for this if you would please. Sorted the battery problem, (see last post) On removing the battery i found an air pipe which come's from a tee peice on the left hand side of the motor, tucked down behind the battery which goe's no-where, it appear's to have a small metal fitting in the end, kinda like a boost jet or a bust off alloy nozzle and i can't for the life of me see where it come's from. Any idea's?? Also, i know the boost guage in the dash is inaccurate, but should it be showing 14 psi on boost?? Could it be this far out or doe's it sound like boost jet's are already in there??

Can anyone point me to the cheapest place to get the above? z-centre seem the cheapest at £290 for the bumper and £46 for the lights (+VAT), but luke is off on holiday for a week, so I'd have to wait a while to get them (and the car's in the garage). petrolheadsnw are £420 delivered but I don't think the lights are included. Any help much appreciated. Cheers :)

Anyone know a website where you could try different rims on different cars? Like choosing a car (preferably 300zx), and then putting different rims on it. I used to know two web pages where you could do this, but one of them has stopped with this service, and I cant remember the Internet address to the second one :( Tell me if you don't understand what I mean and I try to explain better :p

With tyres being a significant running cost, it would be handy to know which tyres last the longest. So if you have experience of running different makes of tyre on your Zed, which ones lasted longest for you? This isn't for grippiest or best looking or cheapest, just longevity - how many miles. Let me know if you want other makes added. This is prompted by going through my second set of Bridgestone S-03s in less than 9,000m when all my previous Brigestones (S-02, Potenza et al) lasted over 15,000m. So what do I replace them with? Cheers - Gio

I've seen a lot on here recently regarding knackered autoboxes, so I wondered (as you do) who's had the highest mileage out of their origonal autobox.. And along with that (only applicable if you've had a failure, obviously), was it a pre or post '91 (which apparently had a revised auto for improved reliability)? Jap or UK? Aftermarket oil cooler? Oh, and how it died (I gather the most popular failure is losing anything above 2nd). I look forward to your tales of autobox woe :p

My standard aerial wouldn't retract fully, no surprise there then, so i've got an autoleads electric aerial from a local motorfactors, i've wired it up as the original was but i can't get it to work, this is the second one so i don't think it's the unit itself. Has anyone else had the same problem? Thanks Baz
