I'm changing my brakes... Need a bit of advice as I am considering servicing my calipers myself, checking pistons and changing seals. Has anyone done this themselves and how easy is it to do myself - Don't want to find out that when I go to brake, the car doesn't stop. Also replacing the fluid and going to get an off the shelf fluid - I have been told that I should use a Synthetic one.. Any idea of a decent brand I could pick up in my local store rather than ordering. Anything I should watch out for when changing pads / discs and cleaning the calipers.. Cheers.

Hi Guys, Just recently got my 91 TT Auto and am looking to install an induction kit. I'm just after the nice slurping sound, not really looking for any performance gain (as its fast enough already!) I've read some threads here about moisture problems and damage to the maf with the wrong kits. Any suggestions as to what I should put in as I don't want to cause any damage by fitting something cr@p. Look forward to any replies. Thanks

Hi Guys, Got my Zed last week, im very impressed with it and am loving every moment in the car. As its an old car (94 plate), even though it has a full service history, I want to put it into a garage to get it serviced, as i think this will save me money in the long run. At least I will know everything is good with the car and that i wont get any suprises. Im based in Orpington Kent, and was wondering where the best place to take my zed to, ive asked my local Nissan dealer and they said that they have a Hi-tech mechanic, but ive heard that its probably best to take it to a spcialist. So where would you recommend to take it? Cheers Steve

I got a 300 tt from '93 (originaly sold in Germany if that matters). Two weekends ago, we did some minor repairs on it. One of the things we wanted to do was to correct a problem with one of the front lights. This involved getting in to the front light unit and unless we did a lot more work than needed (it was the first time, so how knows), getting that unit out means taking of the front and some stuff behind it. This seemed to work well, but when I took it out for a spinn, the engine died on me by a red light. No obvious cause so I had to get towed back home again. It seems only logical to start with the areas we touched when we did our repairs and the only engine …

Throttle pedal has been feeling a bit notchy for past few days, then yesterday it got stuck open at 1/3 throttle and would'nt release. Bit of a scary moment. Tried pulling it up with my foot under pedal, going thru the gears (bearing in mind I was travelling through small residential road) before switiching ignition off and pulling over. Took a look today and found the Cam cover breather pipe did'nt seem to be sitting properly in its housing and was rubbing against the throttle lingage. I suggest everyone also checks theirs !

I've finally got around to sorting my central locking out. It doesn't activate the passenger side one. In short, what has happened is that, at some time, water has got into the control unit on the drivers door and shorted a few resistors out, and I'm assuming has blown the pcb board in there, so it doesn't work. The alarm control works fine, as it has a separate actuator to do this. What I'm after is either someone who is prepared to breath life back into the pcb, or does anyone have a replacement unit? The part number for the unit is 8058037P00, it is located in the drivers door (RHD) at the bottom of the locking mechenism. TIA

Hi to all, need a question answered if poss..I'm changing the oil in my diff and need to know how much it takes to fill it ( I have removed the cooler system on it - only the uk tt's have these..) ) Would this mean the amount of oil to fill a diff would be the same as a jap tt? as it never had a cooler system on it anyway. I'm asking just to be on the safe side. There is a marker on the diff itself which basically says full ( as such ) Any recommendations also on the kind of oil and where i can get me some would be much appreciated !! Mark
