My dash is peeling back from the windscreen vent.....yyuuucchhh !! Its done 52K miles and is 12 years old so its sat in 12 Japanese summers with the heat pouring in through the glass .... the passenger seat is a bit rough as well from heat treatment I would guess. This is not particularly a problem with Zeds / with any car - Any of you guys ever seen this or had any experience a of a cure ???

I was chatting to my girlfriends brother the other day and he mentioned he was having difficulty tracking down a momo boss for his skyline. Don't really know my skylines but I think its an R34 GTS (or something like that!). anyone know a good place to get hold of one? Cheers David

I have been visiting the forum over the last month or so to get an idea of running costs and potential problems that 300 owners experience. The problem as far as I can see is that a lot of you guys seem to be spending a lot of cash keeping your cars on the road. I am getting the impression that these cars are not really very reliable and when they do go wrong you need to sell an organ to pay the bill. Is this a fair assesment? Are there any owners out there who have had no problems and only had to pay for routine servicing? I love the way the Z looks and I love the idea of a 280 BHP TT V6 but I don't really want to buy a car that turns into a millstone round my neck.…

Just thought I would share this with listers and for anyone thinking of buying a Z. I bought my 92 spec JDM Auto as a stock car from Japan having seen so many many dogs via auto trader. I needed a stock car with history to form a solid and known platform for my mid-life crisis project. The car came with full history having been owned by a nissan employee at the Z factory with whom I was in correspondence via e:mail before the purchase. Hi, Newbie here and have a stack of questions to try and resolve some conflicting advice I have heard / read..... I bought my JDM TT (Auto) 92 model six months ago and have had lots of fun putting 15,000 miles on her already. Everyone here knows it but having owned far more expensive & exotic cars in the past I would say this is the most accomplished sports car I have owned. I try to pinch myself regularly and remind myself it really is a thirteen year old car. My goal is return the car to a 'better than new standard' and to some degree money is no object but I also love a bargain. Hello, Well I am getting my new autobox fitted to my zed in the next couple of weeks :dance: The problem I am having now is when I start her up I am getting loads of blue smoke, this didnt occur before the autobox went but after. Do you think it is related to the autobox going or could it be because I havnt been out in her for ages. All I have been doing is starting her up to stop the battery going flat etc. I have been told that it could be oil seeping through the turbo seals because it has been stading for about 6-7 weeks. Help!!

Hiya Just phoned Z tech and they are closed untill the 12th of Sept as they are on holiday. However my Z has died and as I have this week off, realy need to get it looked at. Im in the Chippenham (wiltshire) area. Anyone know of any other good places? Regards Karl

I have recently replaced my stock air box with an apexi filter. Now, when I change gear I hear a slight wwhhhooooshh echoing of cars/walls. As far as I know the car still has the stock recirculation vavles fitted. Would fitting the apexi make these valves more noticable on gear changes ? CheerZ Paul

Still noticing a slight drop in boost from just over 6 to dead on 5.....it always happens after the engine warms up and i've been driving for a while. Can also hear some sort of woosh from the engine which does sound like air escaping but is this normal as it does it when i get full boost? However done a consult on the ECU and comes up with code 55 so all is well?*&^%

Can anyone advise me of what buttons/switches are supposed to be illuminated at night with the lights on appart from the obvious dashboard. Things like the electric window switches, I have one small upside-down V symbol on my window switch which lights up at night but not the passenger switch.

Just got my first Z'd TT and decided to change the gear knob. Not knowing anything about the car, me and my mate tried for hours to get the original off. May seem like a simple job to you gurus out there but unless you have 2 huge mole grips and a strong mate you're in for a rough ride. Anyway, to cut a long story short it took 3 hacksaw blades and a grinder to get it off! and left specs of alloy all over my interior - only to find that it simply screws off. I did try that by the way but those Japs must be strong cause it didn't budge. Thought this might be a useful bit of advice for anyone else whos just got a Z'd.

After reading the posts on "been given this !!! will it fit" i have now come to the conclusion that i know NOTHING about the Z, thought i was clued up... guess i was wrong.... so..... if i want big.. usable power what do i need? i have Nos.. a Blitz ECU and my Apexi ECU plug in says im pushing 380 ish on a real good day! although its been rolling roaded recently by some1 and they say 310!! i have T25 turbo's with a heavy uprated clutch and have been told i have forged pistons and metal gasket when bought.. although this has been disputed recently so now im not so shure! im running what i think is standard boost.. im guessing my first mod should be gi…

I'm guessing this is a fueling issue, I thought at first it was blue, but it's not, just grey puffs of smoke from cold startup and occasionally when it's been left for an hour or two. I'm still running a Jap ECU.

Just had some custom carbon fibre backboxes with removable baffles installed last week. Car was running fine from tuesday till saturday. Didn't drive it on sunday but came to go to work this morning and the car would not go into positive boost. It drove and idles fine, no hesitation or misfire, or any sign something is wrong but the needle goes from negative pressure to just sitting dead on 0bar and i get no boost. Coming home i removed the baffles and i suddenly get boost and all is well again. Am going to try it again with the baffles in tomorrow and see how it is. Is it a random problem which probably will never happen again or have i made some stupid mis…

My power steering belt has come loose and the screeching noise when ever i steer is doin my head in. I'm going to attemp to do it myself in the next few days. Does anyone have an idiots guide to tighten this please???????? :bow:
