Okay so i've been driving the car for 3 days since all the work and tonight I noticed a wierd noise coming from the engine bay. It is only there at low revs (under 1000rpm) and sounds like a very fast chirping, almost like theres a hand full of crickets in there. I'm guessing its a belt that need tightening, any other thoughts? Yas

I only paid for the Z this morning and haven't picked it up yet, but already the mod bug has bitten. Although the interior itself is pretty much ok as it is, the dials seem to let it down a bit. So, does anyone know of any alternative options for the dials? I've seen the white dials on Zcentre, but does anyone do anything like indiglow dials?

Probably been answered before but my idle seems to sit too high sometimes around 1500 then drops but for some reason will just rise again. Would disconnecting the idle valve (yellow connector) be ok to do? I'll do this when the car is warm and see how it feels for a day if it doesn't rise would this mean i need to take it out and give it a good clean or at worst replace it? Cheers

It seems that as soon as I fix something, balance isn't restored until something else breaks. Current problem is the remote central locking. The alarm has its own actuator, which operates on the driver's door. This then triggers the existing central locking for the passenger door. It looks like this actuator is now dead. The alarm was already in the car when I bought it, so I have no idea why they didn't use the existing actuator and since the wiring is already in place, I would rather just replace the dead actuator than molest the factory wiring. Unfortunately I can't find one. It is made by Spal and looks like a Kazoo sized U-Boat. http:/…

After a long chat with the zed centre I think im going to remove my rear spoiler and buy a smooth tailgate skin.. Question 1: My spoiler has the brake (see pic) and fog light built in to it, by saying fog light I mean that if I press the fog light button in my car the brake light will stay on. Question 2: How do I put a brake light in like the below pic? Regards, Matt

To anyone who has fitted these - please send me photos of locations you mounted the ballast box. Mine are just sort of wedged (temporarily) behind the lights. Ive tried *everywhere*, couldnt get it to stick under lights, could not find a suitable place under the nose panel as they just seemed to bounce about on the flimsy thin metal bracket. and lastly. . . do you put electrical tape around the spade connectors that go into the supply to stop moisture / dirt going in? Cheers

Hi guys I have not been on here for ages as I wrote my Z off over a year ago. I have decided to get rid of the number plate and come on here to see if anyone is interested but I found I can't post in the Items for sale. I would gladly make a contribution to the club if my plate sold on here but I don't really want to join just to try and sell my plate. The plate is Z related but I am not going to say anymore as I don't want to break any rules about advertising. Anyone got any Ideas or advice other than don't be a cheap skate and pay the fee? Cheers Ady

Was just wondering: Since the CC track day I have a little jerking when changing into gear, no slipping or anything. Is this likely to be the clutch or just the linkage bits could do with adjusting(technical term!). The clutch isn't that old. Also is this item worthwhile/good value: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-300ZX-Twin-Turbo-Fast-Road-Clutch_W0QQitemZ4570784824QQcategoryZ10402QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

OK, when I put the key in the ignition and turn it a couple of notches the usual lights come on on the dashboard. But at the same time a very rapid clicking starts (fast enough to be considered buzzing) and I've traced it to a light green electric connector/relay in the cabin that sits almost exactly under the bonnet release catch (albeit behind a bit of panelling). The intensity of the dashboard lights fluctates in time with the clicking/buzzing and the car does not turn over if you turn the key all the way. Does anyone know what this relay/connector does and why its buzzing at me? Im thinking there might be a faulty relay or ground somewhere but I don't know wh…
