Picked up my Zed today - I'm well pleased.... Took her for a good blast and everything is a ok! The only thing wrong was a blown indicator bulb (or so I thought), until some cabby told me I had no frickin' brake lights! I checked the indicators and all bulbs are ok, but the drivers side flashes twice as quick as it should, like they do when a bulb has gone. I have done some research on here about it, and I think it may be that little black box thingy(behind drivers rear light)?! Could the two faults be related? I'm gonna have a proper look tomorrow when its not raining and I'm not in odeon car park :D ... If it is that black box, how much are they? And where cou…

Hi zxers, I went in for MOT the afternoon only to realise the right rear light not working. Now I ave spent the last hour or so trying to rectify if but could not source. I put in new bulds, swap theleft ones for the right one still no luck. However the break-lamps are working though. Is there a fuse that control each side of the lamps? thanks Ade

Hi to everyone! :D Apologies for the length of this one, just trying to set off on the right foot of Zed ownership :hyper: ! We (Helen and Ian) collected our Zed last night, its a 1991 T Top Twin Turbo in red :p We are both really happy with the car and there doesn't seem to be any major issues (she went through her MOT this afternoon after a pair of wipers and a new headlight bulb) We have a pretty good working knowledge of cars, having worked with Ford Probes for the last couple of years and are confident enough to try most jobs ourselves. (We have pretty much rebuilt our other car completely, with electrical, engine and interior work being DIY all…

bought a replacement dashboard from a member of group that Im having problem with. when I got it speedo and rev counter were just sitting at max - even when plugged in. looked at back and realised speedo was missing 2 of its 4 screws so used the screws from mine, - no change. left it plugged in and drove home - after about 4 miles bothe rev counter and speedo dropped to normal positions. Anyways. . . . . Rev counter seems fine but speedo is reporting 60mph when GPS shows were doing 34mph and when Im actually doing 45mph speedo shows 105mph??? Also noticed steering is starting to go heavy intermittantly now I have this plugged in - its a uk spec dash.…

Guys what are the offsets for a UK 300 TT? Seen some Axis wheels 19x8.5 (40mm offset) & 19x9.5 (45mm offset), do you think these would fit? Dan.

I read over lunch that the mirrors on the 300zx supposedly fold in automatically. Is that true? / restricted to certain models / countries? If so, mines a jap tt. Are they supposed to work for me :smash:

Have a very intermittant speedo at the moment - mostly doesnt work though - before I go the route of replacing speed sensor I know a few people suggest re-soldering the pcb to fix dry solder joints - I dont have a speed convertor box to worry about. Does anyone have any pictures of the jpoints to look at - is it just the ones on the membrane at the back of the dials or is it a case of take the housing apart to get to the dial electronics themselves and do that side of things? Any help much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi all, As my auto box is now well and truly on its last legs I started researching the various options available to me. (1) rebuild gearbox to stock spec, (2) rebuild gearbox to "fast road" spec, (3) buy second hand gearbox known to be working. Ideally I'd like option (2) but limited finances may force me into another option. However, as a final alternative I'd like to know whether it is possible to buy a completely new gearbox, say directly from Japan. Does anyone know whether this is possible and if so are the gearboxes "year" specific - ie you can't fit a 96 gearbox to a 90 car ... I seem to recall that the autobox out of a JDM TT was also fitted to another JDM N…

Hi, I'm a newby to this forum but I've always liked 300ZXs, especially the one driven by the girl in the film Teen Agent (Esprit, 300ZX and 900 Turbo, good film!). Anyway, I'm interested in getting one as a sensible car (I have a tweaked TVR Griffith as a toy) and I've seen a couple of nice black N/A cars (Silverfox, YHM!). I'm curious to know what standard fit features I'm missing out on by opting for the N/A over the T/T. Things like leather, climate control, HICAS, T-Tops, roof blinds, etc. Can anyone help me out? Of course what I'd really like to do is get a small loan, buy a T/T and crank it up to 500bhp with the aid of some nitrous, but no, I WILL …

Does anyone know if it would be acceptable by mr plod / Law to trim a rear number plate. What I would like to do is trim the 2 smallest sides (vertical) on a standard number plate by about 30mm each side. My car has a private plate on so there would be ample room to do it, due to there only being 5 digits... :duffer: So does anyone know if this is permissble? thanks Jon.. :)

i was driving to work yesterday morning and i had to put my foot down a bit to get into a gap when i stopped at the lights i noticed the car was idleing to fast about 1500rpm, when i got to work it was the same, so i pooped the bonnet just to have a look to see if any wires had come loose or something. At the front of the engine where the two metal water pipes are there are two sensors as i fiddled about with the one on the left the electric fan kicked in and didnt turn off with the car still idleing fast, so i turned the engine off. i started her up about 5 minutes later and the fan came straight on and the engine was still idleing fast so i popped the bonnet and had a l…
