General Discussions - 300ZX Related

can someone point me in the right direction, i need some info. i need the fitting sizes for the wheels, ie: spacing from nut to nut, diameter etc, this is so i can match up for my new alloys basically all the info the alloy makers will need.. any links to this anywhere?

He told me its had an oil leak somewhere(of which my drive is clean free of oil??) He has put in 3 litres of oil and still got low pressure?? Yet my car still runs ok, and hasnt gone bang...yet? Just noticed that one of my sidelights is out and on further investigation noticed thatthey are blue HIDS. Question is, where can I get them from? I have some others but they are bigger so I guess they are for the main beam? Another question is do you have to take the whole light out to replace the main beam bulbs? It looks a nightmare...how do they come out? Bloody bulbs...

Do I have R12 or R134 Air con fluid My car is an early Series II 1993 see below Is it easy to change from R12 to R134 does anyone know how to continue with R12 (I thought it was illegal) but if I can keep it for now I will...help anyone ????????

I know lots of people get the stuff taken off, but I am having the car repainted and I want it looking 'factory'. Is it easy to get hold of the tape for the lines above the stone-chip paint? Is there a part number for it? I would do a search but I have absolutely no idea what you call the stuff. Dressing tape? or is it just 'the line'. I tried searching for 'removing the line' and got 'sexual positions' coming up!

Guys Does anyone know a reputable firm in the midlands that can rebore my bottom end to 3.1/3.2? I can supply the weisco pistons but I dont know what happens about rings? Do you buy them seperate with big end bearings or do you get the 're-boring' company to measure them up and supply them to? Any advice appreciated guys..... Thanks Mark. :D

Just thinking of changing the gearbox oil in my newly imported Z tt manual swb 1993. which type of oil is recommended for these and would slick 50 for the box be a good idea? Can anyone shed some light on this. Cheers.

Hey guys - next problem!!! I got a 1990 non turbo manual IMPORT with original wheels but i got a problem. Recently discovered they're handed but i dunno if the front and rear wheels are physically a different width, app they are on the uk models but i dunno bout the imports. ANyway my serial numbers are 2x 40P00 L and 2x 40P05 R is this correct, cos they're all over the place. What does it all mean? I'm guessing the L and R stands for left n right but that would make two wheels with the same serial number on the same side of the car. COMPLETE COMFUSION HERE!! Help!! Thanx Rich

can any of you shed some light on this for me, when driving along giving it a bit in third and go for 4th and crunch, now when i've been out in it for a bit and i stop it is realy difficult to get it back into any gear. :confused: thanks ian

I've got a greddy oil plate adapter from Chris but he can't get me a greddy 52mm oil pressure gauge to fit it and apparently other gauges sensors wont fit into it. What are the alternatives? Is the stock sender a cause of inaccuracies on the stock gauge, and if not can you fit something to that or maybe replace the sender. Any help would be appreciated as the job has been half done now for 4mths and I'm P*ssed off trying to sort it. Plus the garage is waiting too. Dave

What adhesive do people recommend for sticking vinyl trim and where do they get it from and what sort of prices are people paying for it? Furthermore would anyone recommend a different adhesive if I use leather instead of vinyl? Thanks!

Ok, got the Jim Wolf Technology Chhip for my UKTT but where the hell do I stick the boost gets as the photocopied diagram isn't very clear???!! It says near a small pipe on the inlet side of the throttle bodies??? :confused: Any help would be much appriciated!! Thanks in advance!

Im looking to get one, but the one I tried made a slight ticking sound upto 3100 and then it went. But it was dead on 3100 that it goes. Any one else have one? Does yours do the same? Or any one else been in one?

well what can I say.... picked the zed up from Martyn's on Saturday its like a totally different car :hyper: :hyper: only one word to discribe it FANTASTIC :bow: had the head gasket done, prop center bearing, air con removed, plenum bypass, and lots of other bits she now drives so smooth, a top notch quallity job :bow: :bow: I know where the zed will be going for any future work THE ZEN GARAGE :bow: :bow: :duffer: big thanks to Topless and Martyn :duffer: and a huge thanks to Mujina for taking me down to pick it up :duffer:

is it feasable to buy an auto boxed car and swap the gearbox out for a manual? Is it just a case of swapping out the old auto box and dropping in the manual box clutch etc or is there more to it..(ie floor pan mods...) im desperately looking for a decent z with the cash to spend but only turning up auto TTs and really want a manual..... also what sort of cost would the manual box clutch and stuff id need to finish the conversion go for....? just working out if its worth the hassle...
