I know lots of people get the stuff taken off, but I am having the car repainted and I want it looking 'factory'. Is it easy to get hold of the tape for the lines above the stone-chip paint? Is there a part number for it?

 

I would do a search but I have absolutely no idea what you call the stuff. Dressing tape? or is it just 'the line'. I tried searching for 'removing the line' and got 'sexual positions' coming up!

Nissan sell it for £60 or go to a graphic vinyl shop and get them to cut some for you, thats the route I took and cost me something like £15 from memory.

£60!!!!!!!! Oh, why am I surprised. I also need some of the wee plastic clips that everyone looses from the centre console too. I suppose I better take out a second mortgage.

Rich, go to any motor factors and you can get ¼" ½" ¾" sizes of the said tape, may not be an excact match in colour, but will only cost about £5

motor world do it, its very cheap, and its about 15 meters in length if i remember, they even do the chrome rolls, i did give the info to eacyboy a while ago.. its an exact fit in the channels along the side of the car and bumpers.

I went to every motor spares shop in this area, no one had it or could order it in for me in the right size, even motor world told me that, just goes to show its more a case of they couldnt be bothered to look into it for me.

Got some in black a while ago from Halfords, can remember the price but was only cheap. Fits spot on. Wasnt on the shelf though, asked the guy at the spares counter.
