I'd like to hear from anyone who's uprated or welded their diffs. Before anyone goes off on one this is for my na, which is just a bit of fun, and I'm going to be drifting alot more with it, Its become apparent my oe diff is worn out, it's acting too much like an open diff, so needs to go, it's the biggest thing holding me and it back (apart from coilovers but it's getting the slicktops meister when I change them) so looking for opinions from people, seen a nice 2 way on z1's site, but wonder if it's worth the money or should I weld it...?

My boot trim panels are in need of a refurb, has anyone else done this before? How is it best done? I tried a heat gun on them which has worked a little but some scratches are still visible. Thanks, Dan

My Z has never had any rear speakers since I have owned it, I went to install some the other day and found that I have two cut wires and 3 wires that go into a connector. I found an old thread that shows how to bypass the amp which I have done and got my new speakers working, however the method of bypassing the amp by sticking wire in and out of certain connections doesn't seem all that reliable to me, is there a better way? Also, what is the purpose of the connector with the three wires going to it (red, brown & yellow). Many thanks, Dan

Hey guys. I know I ask for a lot of help aha but I just swapped a injector connecter to a new one and it wouldn't start. I also cleaned some other connectors such as the one on the timing belt cover... I secured it all then tried it and it was turning over but never fired. I jiggled the connecter around and eventually it fired on 5 cylinders. The one that wasn't was the one at the back on the right. Managed to get it on 6 after a while but sometimes drops to 5 for 3 seconds then goes to 6. At idle before this it misfires, roughish idle. But drives fine in the higher rpm. I know I ask a lot aha

Hi all not been on here for ages :) Finally got round to trying to identify a rough running problem. I did an ohms test on the injectors and no.6 had a reading of 55.5!!! I'm guessing that means it's completely shot and needs no other test to confirm it? Does anyone know where I can get a decent (second hand?) one for a 1990TT Cheers Nick

As most of you know, I'm still searching for a zed worth getting. I might have found one, but although the owner claims it's rust free it has these bits. Is even this enough to possibly avoid it, or is it likely to be able to be ground back and repainted?

  17. Power issues, misfires, lumpy running? Many of the running issues are simply sensor faults, connection issues and poor set up, or a combination of all three. Now most of these have been dealt with many times here but a little known issue that is increasing with time is with relays in the fuse box that can potentially upset the clear and concise running of your zed and be the cause of all manner of issues. Check out the circuit diagram above which among other things shows the fuel pump relay and the equally crucial coil pack power relay, for the purpose of this illustration the coil pack relay will be focused on but to a slightly lesser degree the fuel relay and…

Had a nasty surprise when ramping my car at work, a small hole in the sill turned out to be a gapeing chasm!! I'm in the fortunate position of teaching mechanics at college though and my friend who teaches the welding course (best I've ever seen) has kindly offered to rectify it he's about half way through at mo and it will be mint , strong and look perfect when finished. Its a 90 tt manual with 426 bhp few nice mods and shows 64k with some paperwork to make me believe it's genuine, it's a uk car as well in white. Turns heads like nothing iv been in and goes like poo off a shovel. It confuses me a little why 300's are worth so little, supras 10k ish, skylines the same , z'…

Hey guys. Got a real wierd smell earlier of an old workshop in the car. Looked like power steering fluid had leaked everywhere. Just a question... I know the clutch is hydraulic but is it from the power steering? If so it would make a lot of sense aha as my power steering has been going with the leek and I have had clutch pedal problems

Hi all, Been looking at updating the style of seats to go with the new style of body work. I've had various types before but I'm liking the newer style that you see in more modern cars like the Audi RS4 or Golf R32. Do you think these will suit the zed? Bit different from the norm but they look comfortable compared to many I've looked at. Most look like they have no padding at all. Thanks Dan
