I own mattys old zed whcih is a nice car with 99 spec rear lights .. a while ago I lost the use of sidelights (and all associated systems ie rear lights and dash lighting) but the headlights worked fine. Of course it was dark and I was in a contra flow with the feds a few cars behind so couldnt limp home. Phoned Mr rac and he came out and after farting about for 20 mins found an aftermarket relay fitted into the sidelight system that had stuck in (what he said was on but clearly he meant OFF) position. Hello, never had a 300zx so is there a few things i should look for particularly. I have a choice of three : 1990 300zx import 31K mileage TT - auto - 3700£ 1991 300zx import 62K mileage TT - auto - 2700£ 1992 300zx import 55K mileage TT - auto - 3200£ My gut feeling would be to pay the extra and get the older one with less mileage, but i have read that the 1990 were prone to a few more faults than the later models. I have not seen any of thses yet as i am flying from Ireland to purchase one on Thu 12 Jan. So the usual checks you would do on any car applies, I am looking for specifics if that is possible. This may be a stupid question to ask, but how would you know if your water pump has packed up?. I know they can start leaking which is obvious to spot, but that wouldn't stop the pump circulating coolant. How do you check that its still pumping the coolant around the engine, leak or not? Cheers...

why my Z overfuels, I start the car, put her in gear almost instantly, drive a few yards, switch her off and then the next time she wont start untill I crank her for 5 mins and all the smoke puffs out the back. Only does this when engine is cold and switched off befor it gets warm, when I leave it to warm up for 5 mins and do the same as above, it's fine.

s my front bumper standard as i have seen many looking standard zeds with a slightly diff bottom to the bumper, is this a difference with year, jap or uk?

can anyone tell me anything about these Alpine bit's and bobs? First one is TVE-T006 second one is NVE-N055Z don't really know what they do but they were in the boot of my Z when I bought it and I put them in the garage and forgot about them. The TVE says something about being a TV tuner and the NVE doesn't say anything on it. I get the feeling they were jap only cuz I can't find anything about them in english.

Hi Selling my 300 on e bay at the mo and a potential buyer has asked me the engine number. Now I know its at the back of the block, and like everything within the engine bay, will be a sod to get to or see. But can anyone show me a diagram or detailed description of wher to look? how long does a driving ban stay on your licence for? i know points come off after 3 years but you have to wait an extra year to have them removed from your licence.

It's the bearing in the front where the kingbolt enters. Is it possible to just replace the bearing? Called Nissan and they said that I had to replace the hole part (the leg or whatever it's called)

hi. i have a 1990 na jap car.i am going to get the tracking sorted out and was wondering if a na car needs the rear wheels tracked,as i am told na's don,t have rear wheel steering.is this true?. many thanks.

My car has started running really rough recently. Its fine on short distances but after 10-15 mins it starts misfiring and trying to stall. The last time it did it the car died and wouldn't restart so i disconnected the MAS to see if that would get me home (puts it into a sort of safety mode i believe) and the car started and ran, but ran rough below 2000rpm(is that normal?). I presume it is the MAS playing up or could it be something else that is ignored when i disconnect the MAS plug? Also if it is the MAS then its the second one that has gone in 3 years, the last one being a brand new one from nissan. What could be causing them to break? :headvswal …

Hi all, When I pull away my car makes a noise when I lift my foot of the clutch, only notice the noise in 1st and 2nd. Could it be the clutch trowout bearings making a noise? Regards, Matt
