I know some of you know i have a bit of a dillema with my engine at the mo.. anyway rather than get the big end bearing and crank replaced ive been looking into getting a recon engine in exchange instead. After all i dont know what other damage my Zeds motors got wrong with it.it had a rebuild under 30,000 miles back but has gone wrong again.Either the bearings were not replaced first time or somebody has treated it badly since the rebuild. Ive came across this company who have offered this service http://www.enginesdirect.com/index.shtml for a recon 300ZX TT engine for 1795.00 inc vat fitted.Obviously all the ancillaries will come from my engine but has a…

Just got an under drive pulley for zed. Would I need to change the belts or will the tensioner take up the slack properly. Also with the loss of the weight and balancing effect of the original pulley do I need to look at anything else while I'm messin with it? Cheers Marc

Guys attached are some scans I have just done from a killer find in the US. Turbo magazine to celebrate its 20th Anniversary have re-run its 1992 article on the bonneville record setting 300zx's :) The legendary 1991 Jun & Blitz cars. These were 800bhp+ monsters that show that even though skylines sometimes seem to have the edge on power, you cannot beat good aerodynamics from the off. Read the sidebars and imagine how sick the guy in the twin turbo ferrari testarossa special must have been to be toasted by our Japanese friends  !!! LOL Enjoy

Help, my Z has started dripping at quite a fast rate my radiator coolant and water, I have taken some pictures below as it appears to be coming from some sort of metal tank beneath the engine where the cogs are?? Its not coming from either the radiator or the pipes by the looks of it, I have booked into a garage to get it sorted friday but I would like to know what you people think first. Any more questions about it please ask. It is leaking when the car is not running as well as when it is. All advice would be gratefully apprieciated. Many Thanks.

People, after having a bit of a break in owing Z32's looking to retrun to the fold. However, bit out of touch with the market prices - so need a bit of guidance. There's a trader local to me who's got a '93 (L-Plate) 300zx Twin Turbo Manual (Jap Import, 90,000 kms, cloth interior, standard spec except for turbo timer/wheels), up for grabs and is asking £6495 (strikes me as being a bit OTT), but in reality is this a fair price, taking the wee or what? Any guidance/advice appreciated. PS.. Anyone (or know of anyone) interested in part-ex'ing/swapping against a non-turbo Supra? Needs to be a manual TT tho'

Driving along the road tonight and i feel play starting increase on the clutch pedal and less resistance.. eventually not being able to fully disengage the clutch.. so checked the reservoir and it's empty, fill it up and the clutch gets a bit better, pump it a few times let the air out (see bubbles in the reservoir) and that enabled me to get home ok. The reservoir doesn't seem to be losing that much fluid although i've only left it sitting for 15 minutes since i last checked. Doesn't appear to be any leaks from the master cylinder and i can see drips coming from under the car, behin the back of the engine i can see a drip coming from between and above two …
