People tell me they can smell Optimax from the exhausts when I drive by or they are behind me, fuel consumption is just the usual for a TT and the ecu reports no faults. Cats are off as well, is normal? Car runs fine as well. Daz.

I am at my wits end at the moment with my Z. Just before christmas I spent a £1100 getting her serviced and checked over and a new set of stainless pipes fitted and a week before christmas (about 2 weeks after I had her back from southwestz in Bristol) she decided she was having the holiday off too! Initially I was lead to believe that it was the PTU that was at fault. But I have since tried another PTU (many thanks t-pot for sending me your PTU so I could test it) and it has not changed the fault at all. The symptoms are irratic idle revs and missfiring with much spluttering and no power. When I got it home I left it on the drive for the night and when I came t…

Guys Does anyone know how the car knows if the boot lid is open? My lid was open and slammed shut in the wind and now the car seems to think that a door is open when they are all closed. I can only assume that it is related to the boot slamming shut. This obviously causes me issues with my alarm etc... Can anyone help???? I would hate to think I had to take it to a Nissan main dealer...;-(

if you window trims were like mine and faded and looking a bit grey try this.. I used black boot polish..works a treat as it soaks into the trim and is waterproof and also once dry dosnt put black marks on anything that touchs it..just rub it on with a rag and rub it in..leave it to soak in for 10-20 mins..keep doing this till its black..mine took 3 coats to get it the black i wanted but looks brand new..I used it on the rear window trim, rear 1/4 window and side window sill trims, top windscreen trim...give it a go ! Made all the difference fixing up those small details!

Got to buy a new Heater Matrix by the looks of it, so just went into my local motor factors and was quoted £52 for a primera matrix which as far as we could see is the same one used in nearly all versions of this car, my question is, is there a better or uprated heater matrix available coz if i have to pull the dash out then i only want to have to do it once!! What would you buy??? Cheers Craig

Ok, im going to take the matrix out. (as per previous post about wet footwells  ) Does anyone have any guides as to 'where to start" with regards to dash removal etc? Exactly how much of the dash do i take off? Is it just under the driver side i remove or the whole stereo surround etc? And why is the matrix earthed. Thanks in advance, Kersh.

on my previous Z it was simple - remove the screw at the bottom of the mirror - but on my current Z (97NA) there's no screw, either side. And judging by the look of the hole, there's never been a screw in there (no pun intended). Have Nissan changed the way the glass is removed on later models? Anyone know how to remove the glass? I'm trying to get to the retaining screws that hold the plastic surround - need to replace a broken one. Any ideas/help always appreciated. Cheerz Jack
