General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Replaced my front indicators with some nice shiny "crystal" ones, but now my fog lights look crap! and dont fit with the rest of the car... does anyone know of anywhere i can get some crystal look ones? or is it just "one of those things"?

Is it just import cars that have this stone chip stuff on the lower of the sills front bumper and rear bumper .Has anyone got rid of it my sills need painting soon so i was thinking about the bodyshop getting rid of it thanks taff.

Matey chucked in some black EBC pads for the front when I bought the car. Are these good or should I buy something else? Rears are ok, but what do you suggest for those, for future reference. Thanks Mark

hello all just picked up my 300 n/a shed £950 bargain (i hope) got an orrible rattle coming from headlining between targa panels(sounds like a rattling fan) common problem??? murf295 mods so far £25 in the tank :hyper:

Getting a new stereo and exploring the options for placing a sub are in the boot or under the front seat/s. Just to let you know, I have a convertible that has a solid bulkhead between the seats and the boot, I will be running component speakers in the doors. The rear does not speakers and it will be fed by 160w genesis amps. Anyone fitted a sub under the seat and know which model/s might fit?

I know this is open ended dependant upon use/abuse but what is an average stock clutch life? I ask as mine was changed about 27k miles ago and was riding today when booting it in second. Anyone aware of anything other than wear that causes this on a zed in particular?

I think, although I'm not sure, due to det at under 3.5k rpm, but can't hear it :confused: . I stop, turn ignition off, restart and all is well again. All I have on my car is JDixon chip, Apexi filter, 1.2mm boost jets running at just over 12PSI and, found out on Saturday I have TRUST intercoolers :hyper: everything else (as far as I know) is stock, including Zorst. How do I go about finding exactly what is causing it, preventing it and curing it EDIT, also run on Optimax all the time uless I can't get there so I use BP Ultimate or that Esso Super stuff CheerZ Paople Paul

im trying to get my mate to get a n/a zx. im sure he can afford petrol as he only work 2 miles from his house 6 days a week. 1500 fully comp insurance. he's 21. how petrol do you guys think it will cost him a month to get to and from work. he spends alot of money on crap. lol

Handles are chrome (only fitted to top spec late edition models). Will go to the scrap yard at the weekend and get a plain plastic one to see if it's all identical behind. It should be. It's just a hole on the end of the lever where the arm slots into. I have recently bought a 300z i have had the car De-Limited but when the Car is in 5th Gear it seems very disapointing. Put it this way i had a 200sx and that car would walk all over the 300z, why?

What else should i do or replace????? (Apart from the addition of lightweight flywheel!!!)

Hi everyone, on my 89 tt i have a very 80's looking 300zx decal on the top of the rear screen (kinda like a rear sun visor) i have seen these on a few zeds and presume they were all the rage in 89, but i don't want it now!! :( question is....after 16 odd years the b4stards so stuck on its gonna take me another 16 to get it all off :( any advice on adhesive remover- i've been advised nail polish remover? don't want to damage the heated elements in the screen and don't want to scratch the screen by scraping with a knife help me it looks tatty!!!

Are the OEM front rotors the same on the NA and turbo for a 1990?

Hi all I've not long ago aquired my first Z (TT auto), I managed to buy a manual for it but find the info I'm after either very hard to find or to be non existent in the manual. Maybe some of you more experienced Z owners can help. a. windscreen wipers, what size do I need (front and rear). I think the rear one fitted at mo is too small. b. tyre pressure c. oils !!! (I know there seems to be a bit of a debate going on about engine oil, but what about power steering, brake fluid etc) d. anti freeze, what % to parts of water Thanks in advance Ern

Guys, Ive had some probs with the electrics lately and i had to pull some fuses out to stop the horn going off etc etc. Anyway, i had to remove one of the headlight fuses as it that also got affected. However when i did this i notice that if i turn my lights on now the small round ones come on as well as the main beam ones on normal driving. Now i noticed that the main beam (square) lights were in fact dipped. Now i didnt know they could operate in a dipped mode, i thought they were for main beam only....am i right in thinking that the small round ones are driving lights and the Square ones next to them (in the same unit) are for main beam only?? Or sh…

hi all just wundrin, i need to take my car in to zedworld when ive stumped up the cash, say 4 weeks or so, and i think im gona need the following done; 1.main crank seal (back) 2.cam belt + water pump 3.leaking high pressure hose to power steering pump (or at least it think thats where it coming from!) 4.strong smell of fuel think its coming from where the supply comes from undernesth the chassis up to the fuel filter. Does anyone know how much this might set me back est. or has anyone had this done and already know how much its gona be any replies gratefull guys!!!! :)

Where would I plump an oil catch can into in engine bay.To what pipes? It has one in and one out.Any help would be appreciated.....Vinz :bow:
