Getting a new stereo and exploring the options for placing a sub are in the boot or under the front seat/s.

Just to let you know, I have a convertible that has a solid bulkhead between the seats and the boot, I will be running component speakers in the doors. The rear does not speakers and it will be fed by 160w genesis amps.

Anyone fitted a sub under the seat and know which model/s might fit?

Mark I think you will struggle to get a decent amp to fit under the seat, why not a boot install?

The boot install would be completely cut off from the front with solid metal, no parcel shelf, and I don't want a big install in the boot to compensate for that.

The amps are not a problem I can put them in the boot, and run the wiring back and forth!

I was thinking of something similiar to this but without the amp built in!!

Cheers guys, will have a think, why does my ice fella go on hols for a month when I need him

Having a Sub under the front seats will be an intresting car ride, it will make you feel like your suffering with piles wo'nt it???? LOL specialy a couple of 12" Subs listening to Eminem.

one of the recent set of pioneer subs are really flat - might be worth a look? afaik the box size has to be spot on with them though.

I have a big long sandwich under my seat I think. Probably not what you mean? I'm not too hot on all the jargon.

Without seeing pics of the bulkhead I may be talking crap but why not fabricate the woofer direct into the bulkhead and maybe go for a neon look to it as that would look pretty good sat direct behind ur seats.

I had an MK2 MR2 (similar cabin layout to the convertible) with a sub mounted under the driver seat. Sounded great! Maybe speak to the MR2 guys to find out if they've got any recommendations Mark...
