Is there any difference between a starter motor for an n/a 300zx or a t.t ?

Do any of you know how to find out the spec of a mines ecu?, i've read that there is mild, aggresive etc, have tried their web site but my pc cant decode the Japanese text very well, just discovered i had this chip fitted, cheers Dave

hi all i've just bought a new set of mechnical gauges for the z (oil,boost,water temp) i'm a little concerned about the water temp one as it has 1/2" npt fitting on the end will this go through the bulkhead anywhere on the drivers side? also does any one do a top hose adaptor to take 1/2" npt? though i must say i've got 2 smaller adaptors but not sure what size or thread they are all i can say is one is tapered thanks for any help in advance kev

Right, I just set up a Air Fuel Gauge, it is fine on idle with the reading slowly going from lean to rich as the engine warms up. However, when driving the reading is VERY eratic, jumping from lean to rich and back again constantly. Does anyone know why this is as it's getting anoying. :mad: Thanks.

Two questions really. At what boost do stock injectors become no good? And Can the stock injectors be recalibrated to flow more than stock?

Hi there, I've been looking at buying another Jap car in the near future, and have decided that a 300ZX quite fits the bill. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to buy a manual TT 300ZX that's actually any good for around £4000-4500? Are there any buying guides anywhere? Cheers Matt

As you may know, i've completly rebuilt my engine but I've keep my stock turbos (becaue of $$). I've gone with Z1 motorsport rebuilt kit and upgraded to 87.5mm wiseco itons. he car is running fine but is using a lot's of fuel (20 liters per kms). Also the car is smoking a lot (blue smoke wih bad smell). Do you think I did something wrong? Or maybe my turbos are dead... But i was thinking as I use a lot's of gas, some unburn gas go on the exhaust..... I don't really know!!

OK had a bit of problem with the car over the weekend. Thought that the sparks may had been part of it so I went in search of platinum plugs to fit. Couldnt find one correct set for my car so the guy at the counter suggested these to me as a tempt replacement to get it running again: Champion RC6PYP - Double Platinum plugs They are apparently slightly colder than the ones listed for my car. Should I keep using these or change them. If its change them which ones should I use. The car has the following spec to help out. NissTek chip 1.2mm boost jets Apexi Induction kit Baileys BOVs Twin 4" S/S Full System (cat on) TIA, Dave G

An engine for a Nissan 300zx. VG30DETT. This is the twin turbo model. Consists of both heads and covers including cams. Although one cam cap needs helicoiling to mount. The cams are in situ. The heads have had new valve stem seals and the valves have been lapped and the heads have been pressure tested. New head gaskets were installed (Genuine Nissan). A brand new knock sensor was fitted (155 quid from nissan). The Block was stripped acid dipped and checked over as the engine had only covered 45,000 miles there was no wear but all the shells and piston rings were replaced as a matter of course, the bores were also honed. there are new crankshaft oil seals and new gaskets a…

Do I need to drain all the water first? aside from the obvious , are there any special tools needed? Dreading The thought of this job, :( but i know once I start it it will be OK. :smash:

Can someone send me pics please for the area around the sender unit for the boost guage. I think I may have got some of the hoses mixed up around there but not sure. Its on the drivers side at the top. Also anyone know a link to a picture of the engine bay which has the labels on it to help people like me :dance: TIA, Dave G

just a quicky i need to replace my rear wheel studs can these be done by just removing caliper and disc then knock them out or does the hub have to be removed? many thanks kev

... In removing the plenum? had alook today and it looks like a big job to carry out as the car is used daily to go to work in and cannot be off the road for long. Also, is there any other things that i should consider when removing it? thx in advance rob

At about 1pm today going past The Woodman Pub in So'ton.

not having a very good day with my Z i am.started up my Z earlier and while waiting for it to warm up my hicas light came on. power steering oil must have been low so topped it up with some oil.the light went away.took it out for a spin and while driving smelt petrol.didnt take enough notice of it until the smell got worse.parked up and opened my bonnet and the engine smelt of nothing but petrol so believed there was a leak somewhere.started looking around if i could find anything.got to the top middle section of the engine and found the area wet under a couple of pipes.thats where the petrol leakage is and the petrol is dripping out there quite quick so thought id best t…

(Sorry mods, put this in the wrong forum so have copied and pasted here) Have just given my Z (1991) an oil change + flush and new filter and the oil pressure gauge now rises higher than I've ever seen it before (to about 7) when the engine is cold. It returns to normal when the engine has reached its usual running temperature. Is this the normal behaviour of the oil pressure gauge or has the oil change freed up some kind of blockage causing unusual gauge readings? Any advice welcome

I'v been running with 1.2mm boost jets for ages with no problems. I have only recently fitted a boost guage and with 1.2mm I'm getting just over 12PSI. Changed the 1.2 to 1.0 and I'm getting a tad over 15PSI but loads and loads of dett. Is this right as I have read some people can run 16PSI and even 17PSI with no dett whatsoever. Is there a problem with my car BTW, I have a JDixon remap :bow: Apexi filter, TRUST intercoolers, stock zorst. AS FAR AS I KNOW every thing else is also stock. CheerZ Paul
