Hi there, I've been looking at buying another Jap car in the near future, and have decided that a 300ZX quite fits the bill. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to buy a manual TT 300ZX that's actually any good for around £4000-4500? Are there any buying guides anywhere? Cheers Matt

Hi Guys, Just wondered who you lot use for service parts etc. stuff i need- Exhaust manifold gaskets Inlet Manifold gaskets sump gasket cam belt cam cover gaskets Might need OIL pump (pre cuationarry) water pump plugs dizzy (unless the ignition is a wasted spark) J

As you may know, i've completly rebuilt my engine but I've keep my stock turbos (becaue of $$). I've gone with Z1 motorsport rebuilt kit and upgraded to 87.5mm wiseco itons. he car is running fine but is using a lot's of fuel (20 liters per kms). Also the car is smoking a lot (blue smoke wih bad smell). Do you think I did something wrong? Or maybe my turbos are dead... But i was thinking as I use a lot's of gas, some unburn gas go on the exhaust..... I don't really know!!

OK had a bit of problem with the car over the weekend. Thought that the sparks may had been part of it so I went in search of platinum plugs to fit. Couldnt find one correct set for my car so the guy at the counter suggested these to me as a tempt replacement to get it running again: Champion RC6PYP - Double Platinum plugs They are apparently slightly colder than the ones listed for my car. Should I keep using these or change them. If its change them which ones should I use. The car has the following spec to help out. NissTek chip 1.2mm boost jets Apexi Induction kit Baileys BOVs Twin 4" S/S Full System (cat on) TIA, Dave G

An engine for a Nissan 300zx. VG30DETT. This is the twin turbo model. Consists of both heads and covers including cams. Although one cam cap needs helicoiling to mount. The cams are in situ. The heads have had new valve stem seals and the valves have been lapped and the heads have been pressure tested. New head gaskets were installed (Genuine Nissan). A brand new knock sensor was fitted (155 quid from nissan). The Block was stripped acid dipped and checked over as the engine had only covered 45,000 miles there was no wear but all the shells and piston rings were replaced as a matter of course, the bores were also honed. there are new crankshaft oil seals and new gaskets a…

Can someone send me pics please for the area around the sender unit for the boost guage. I think I may have got some of the hoses mixed up around there but not sure. not having a very good day with my Z i am.started up my Z earlier and while waiting for it to warm up my hicas light came on. power steering oil must have been low so topped it up with some oil.the light went away.took it out for a spin and while driving smelt petrol.didnt take enough notice of it until the smell got worse.parked up and opened my bonnet and the engine smelt of nothing but petrol so believed there was a leak somewhere.started looking around if i could find anything.got to the top middle section of the engine and found the area wet under a couple of pipes.thats where the petrol leakage is and the petrol is dripping out there quite quick so thought id best t…

(Sorry mods, put this in the wrong forum so have copied and pasted here) Have just given my Z (1991) an oil change + flush and new filter and the oil pressure gauge now rises higher than I've ever seen it before (to about 7) when the engine is cold. It returns to normal when the engine has reached its usual running temperature. Is this the normal behaviour of the oil pressure gauge or has the oil change freed up some kind of blockage causing unusual gauge readings? Any advice welcome

I'v been running with 1.2mm boost jets for ages with no problems. I have only recently fitted a boost guage and with 1.2mm I'm getting just over 12PSI. Changed the 1.2 to 1.0 and I'm getting a tad over 15PSI but loads and loads of dett. Is this right as I have read some people can run 16PSI and even 17PSI with no dett whatsoever. Is there a problem with my car BTW, I have a JDixon remap :bow: Apexi filter, TRUST intercoolers, stock zorst. AS FAR AS I KNOW every thing else is also stock. CheerZ Paul

Whats the normal oil pressure meant to be, mine was always 60 and now for some reason the its dropped to 30-40, it says in the handbook that this is the norm level, it just seems a bit low because its always been higher. Any ideas?

Does anyone have thge wiring diagram for door locks circuit? I would like to know how the circuit is configured to put a light on the dash when the boot or door is open. My light is on even though the doors are all closed so this causes me issues with alarm etc. Thanks guys..

hi peeps, hope all of you are fine and loving your zeds.ive got a bit of a problem with mine.started it up this morning.i give it about 15 minutes to warm up and stuff before i take it out on the road.done the same today and put my heater on and heard a loud squeeling sound coming from my engine.switched the heater off and the sound went away.put it back on and the sound came back.so i popped the bonnet trying to discover what the problem is but me being a total novice when it comes to engines i cant figure it out.but basically the loud squeeling noise is coming from the front part of the engine just behind the bonnet locking system. any ideas on what it mind be?an…

Right before i go and spend 2 large ones on new tubs then ok do a compretion test. sunday afternoon hour later no rush ive finnally got all plugs out so far so good all six NGK/R.. PFR6B-11C PLUGS LOOK OK AND MORE THE SAME.Now do i replace plugs are these the right ones ond before comp test do i have to put the inlet mainifold two rear holes back coverd up before test? any help cheers. :(
