Just been to start up after 3 months undercover (the car -not me!), has now developed a light tapping in the top of the engine which wasn't there before. Its 'loudest' when idleing decreasing as the revs increase upto about 2-3K when it seems to go away. Is this gungee oil ?

Hi all, apolgies cos I'm sure this has been asked many times but couldn't find a relevant thread, what width rims/tyres will fit on a LWB zed without any modification to arches? I'm looking at some 235/40/18 on the front and 265/40/18 rears, will these slow the car down/affect the handling too much? I don't want to impair these at all if poss Many thanks Rich

Car let me down today for the first time, I guess its not bad considering Ive had the car 2 1/2 years. Had myself booked in with Leon at Alunox, to have my exhaust moddified, or a new one made to suit the new bodywork plans. Go to start up the car at 730am this morning, turning over, but not starting, eventually battery went flat. Sounds like lack of fuel. Checked fuse nr the brake master cylinder, ran ecu test - 55 ok, fuel pump seems to prime. Dont mind the car letting me down, just hate it when I have booked myself in for work and let others down. After much scraping and de-icing at half six this morning I slowly edged my car out of my drive and onto the road Usual Fan belt squealing to wake the neighbours !! Eventually got my windows to work up/down and wiped the mirrors off a bit Full demist and heat on windscreen eventually cleared my view so I could see where I was going - and wipers finally kicked in to clear the last of the ice But what really freaked me out was the cracking noises all around my head as I picked up speed and joined the motorway - Turns out it was the Ice on the Targa roof slowly cracking and then letting go as I sped along - very spooky - had to turn the music up…

  21. Hi all, Following on from a previous thread about the fitment of a Stillen rear strut brace I thought I'd put up a separate thread to explain the actual fitting issue. Stillen advertises their rear strut brace as being able to fit to cars fitted with aftermarket suspension only. This is due to the fact that all US cars (and I believe most UK cars as well) have adjustable rear suspension with an actuator fitted to the top of the strut. This is where the problem lies ... aparently (and I can't verify this myself) the rear strut brace fouls on the actuator. As far as I know (and please correct me if I'm wrong) US, Euro and UK spec 300ZX's have adjustable susp…

Hey guys, Dunno if any of you have had this but on my NA 300 Manual J spec, when i'm turning the wheel when stationary or at very low speeds i'm gettin a nasty sort of deep hum which send s vibratios thru the steerin column to my hands. Also at higher speed say 30mph goin round a roundabout, its almost as if the sterring is trying to go too far in the direction i'm pushing it, like its trying to take the steering out of my control and pushing it further. Its also twitching when going in a straight line at 70mph. Everyone makes minor corrections due to camber changes in the road but when i do this the steering yet again trys to go too far, taking the comtro…
