General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi all, I want to fit a set of DTM Style door mirrors on my Zed. I enquired about the one's supplied by Halfords, but they don't do the backing plate for the 300 :confused: Does anyone know of a supply source for these mirrors for the Zed? I have seen Zed's with them fitted. Many thanks. GUMBALL :D

Hi folks, I've got a question about the sounds that dump valves (BOV's) make. In the fast and the furious film the dump valves don't make the usual wooshing sound. To me it sounds more like a rattle. Is this a particular type of BOV i.e. HKS SSQV or Dual piston type? Cheers, Mark

should i de-cat my twinturbo or not?i have heard that if i do then my turbos will wear out more quickly.is this true and if i do de-cat what sort of gains will i be seeing?

It looks like the facts have become a little twisted regarding traders not allowed to sell branded parts that other traders on the board already sell. There is no rule in this club to say that each trader can’t sell parts that another trader supplies. This is a gentleman’s agreement between the traders and you will find that a large number of traders do work along side each other supplying each other with many parts. Our club is unique in this method and many other top car clubs have looked at the way this works and emailed me to say it looks like our system works very well and unlike theirs they don’t see massive bun fights and arguments between online traders. i had a starting, stalling and miss firing problem the other day and after a bit of failure diagnosics i came to the conclusing - PTU. i left the car at work and traveled home, 150 miles away. Now after looking at the online service manual i noticed the failure diagnoics for the PTU looks different to my CD verson (which i now believe is US). Does anyone out there have a CD verson which is different to the online verson??? if so can i see the page so i can compare it to the online verson and see if it is my PTU. (engine fuel and emisson control systems page 179) If you can help i would be a very happy man, i don't like pubic transport and i miss my Z already …

Please could someone advise on the fuction of the two devices in the picture, I guessed at oil cooler and A/C cooler/evaporator, also what is the smaller rad in front of the main radiator (not pictured)?

I'm just in the process of changing out my air filter, but have found an odd connector on the bottom of the standard air box, does anyone know what it is? Thanks David

i got a lazy cam belt tensioner which dosnt wake up when the car does lol its fine when its warm i been told to change the oil i was wonderin if there is anything else i can do until i get my hands on a new one????? :hyper:

Think i have a faulty det sensor. Im sure my car is going into saftey mode in all but the Turbo's. I have a boost controller which will take away saftey boost, but ive noticed that after a while the bottom end feels sluggish, seems you need to spool the turbo's for any power, whereas other time (usually when i just get into it) the car feels very responsive. Im guessing the det sensor is kicking in and mucking up the timing, deffo no det, my car used to saftey boost all the time before i installed the boost controller, but never any sounds from the engine. Should I just bypass the sensor? and can anybody do it for me as im crap at anything electrical. Also p…

Is there a tool for pulling the ball joint out of the hub. I can't get behind to give it a whack and I am worried if I do hit it too hard I will bust the hub. Cheers, Scrawni.
