Connector on bottom of standard air filter box

I'm just in the process of changing out my air filter, but have found an odd connector on the bottom of the standard air box, does anyone know what it is?

    Not noticed that before. Could it be the ext air temp sensor for the a/c ?

    I've cable tied it to one of the intake hoses, as it was only tied not bolted to the air box. No errors on Datascan!
