friday i stopped in a parking space and the car just died. started back up revs irratic rising and falling between 2-300 rpm then dies again. started for a 3 rd time and it dies straight away. left it for an hour problem gone for now but revs not as steady as they were before the problems. disconnected tps this evening and reconnected.revs are a little more steady. connected datascan and there are no error codes etc. i suspect either the idle valve needs cleaning so will clean that and the throttle bodies tomorrow . drove up the road saturday after i gave it an oil change. it started to misfire and wouldn't rev. i took out of gear and the engine stalled.h…

I put them on yeaterday - it was very easy. THe only slightly hard bit was fiding space to mount the boxes which increase the voltage. They look awesome - but I haven't tried them in the dark yet as I was away last night - looking forward to trying them later! I might post a pic but I'm never convinced they show that much anyway.

Can anyone with datascan or consult confirm that the VVT solenoids always activate to 'on' when the throttle is opened and the car is in gear. This is how mine seem to operate but I thought they were only active at 5000rpm. Car runs fine but I'm curious.

Maybe I have just never noticed it before, but the 300ZX now appears in the values section of "Classic and Sportscar". This is good news as far as I am concerned as steady price rises normally follow. Standard Zeds, with only minor mods, should therefore start to increase in value but, unfortunately, the opposite normally applies for those with huge mods. An interesting point to debate I think.

Is there a thread or page somewhere that gives a big tutorial on what wheels to get, pros and cons of sizes e.g. which wheel widths fill the arches well, what spacers may be needed, the effect of offset etc. And the same with tyres - what widths fit on various wheels.

Having had absolutely no luck with the 300zx i am considering letting the guy who is using it for filming at the moment sell it for me.....apparently its quite famous now and should recoup some of the fortune I have spent on it due to its new found fame....its been in the paper and will be on film 2006 etc. I am considering buying an M3 on an 02 plate and wondered if anyone had any experience of the car in terms of performance and importantly reliability!!!! Your opinions are always valued. Rob PS.I really wanted to make the zed thing work but I trusted the wrong garages with the work and over a year later the car will be fixed and I've lost interest :…

Hi there The revs are quite low on my car, around 500rpm in drive. How do I raise them to the correct speed?? Thanks

Actually managed to fix my wing mirror. The rotating mechanism had rotted and split in half (see pictures in my rides) which left the mirror waggling around and attached by only one screw. Anyways managed to get another wing mirror from supercarparts but it had a dodgy case. Anyway I'm well chuffed that I managed to get the old mirror off, remove the casing, replace the casing on the delivered wing mirror and shove it back on the car. I know its an easy job for most people but I'm crap and I actually got it done. All before it started tipping it down too! Damn that thunders loud now.

As you may or may not know from my previous thread, I'm looking for a TT for up to around £3-£3.5K as a weekend/evening car. I've spotted one on autotrader, which is described as a 'mature enthusiast owned example' and in excellent condition. It is a UK auto in black and the pictures do look nice and the spec is good. It comes with a 3 month warranty. I've spoken to the garage, who have advised me that it has done 140,000 miles but has full service history. It's advertised at £3700. Is this good value for money, or would I be better of going for an import with lower mileage????
