I sent an email to api asking if they have got any recon z32 tt engines and got this reply, do they think i'm stupid or what?! Dear Ed Thank you for your interest in API Engines. We do not have any of those suitable for recon at the moment so it would have to be done off your original engine. I would expect the cost to be £2495.00 for the engine work and a further £750.00 for fitting should you need it. Mostly on these cars, many ancillary components are worn out too. such as coil packs that suffer from the heat of the engine and fall apsrt in your hands. together with may of the wiring plugs and connectors. the job can turn into a nightmare i…

I've been toying with the idea of buying a manual ZX recently, not for any other reason but my SLK is an auto so having a manual ZX would be different. Anyway, I've seen a 1994 "L" reg UK spec fully loaded manual advertised in a car dealers near me. It's had very few owners (the last, a Z-club member, for the last 8 years) and it has only covered 70k miles with full detailed history. It's going for £5k. Now I'm very attached to my current ZX - it's a 1991 UK spec with only 88k miles and has never let me down at all. A manual conversion is not an option as I consider it a waste of money; I think it more sensible to replace the car rather than do that. I'm n…

My mate was behind me the other day in his new 3Litre Turbo jeep when I put the foot down and and though I'd be the clever one and zoom into the distance, which I did :D He noticed blue smoke coming out of my exhaust, what does this mean exactly?

Port Marine is the new development I live in in Portishead. There's a sales office at the entrance and after a bit of a drive around today down the coast, I decided to come home and past this. Now today, there was a flustered looking woman, probably in her mid-50s in the road pointing then made an arms outstretched gesture as I rounded the corner. Thinking there was some kind of problem, I pull over and wait for her to come over...she didn't, so I pepped up and in a loud-ish voice asked what the problem was. She couldn't quite hear me, but came over and bellowed, "what's your problem then?"....to which I replied, "well, I was a bit miffed at your gesture and th…

Does anyone know the best placeto get this material as I'm finally getting rid of the tweed interior, but don't want to go for leather/vinyl finish. Also is the suede material easier than leather to stretch round the door cards? Cheers

I'm looking at buying some turbos from an auto that have only 500miles on them. I have used the search as much as possible and found that auto turbos have slightly smaller casings which mean quicker spool up but less possible power. I want to run 14-15 psi on my manual car, will the auto turbos be up to this? Anyone know the max efficency of auto vs manual turbos? difficult question if noone has compared them before i know.

Hi, looking for an Electronic Boost controller, but does it have to be dual solenoid (for example) And is a cheaper "proper make" unit OK, or does it need to be a clever unit to cope with the two turbos. Thanks.

What car mats seem to fit well? I would like a choice to choose from, so what have you fitted to yours and how well do they fit? I'm also looking at momo gaitors for the handbreak and gearnob. possibly new handles to go with them.

Well i tempted to fit my koyo over the weekend, apart from my brackets not fitting it went well but..... I did find a random radiator which had a electric fan on which i have no idea what it's for?? It sits between and baby oil cooler and the main radiator and like i say it has a fun size electric fan hooked up on it.
