Hi, I have just bought my first 300zx, picking it up Wednesday hopefully! The previous owner has installed a larger set of discs to the front as well as some Brembo calipers from an Evo 8. They are pretty good, however I am looking at getting some new wheels and want to make sure I have got some decent clearance so I can get a somewhat deepdish. Is it worth me going back to standard discs and calipers or is there a decent upgrade that I can do that would still give me good clearance for wheels? Thanks,

Ok I have a feeling I already know what the answer is going to be on this BUT as always grateful for the knowledge of you guys. while lecturing my bro to change the belt on his Alfa GT I realised the Timing belt on my 91 twin turbo in mileage has done only about 16k mainly easy road miles with regular oil changes BUT in terms of age it was last changed 15 years ago. SO - is the belt still ok or needing changed just down to age? Thanks again for any advice.

Is it just me or do I have two left side sunvisors? Should the writing on the visor not be on the other side?

  4. I know this is proabbly a long shot but i have to ask it anyways. Im looking to install the oem power steering cooler into my jdm z32 as a rare modification project that interests me and i have everything to do the install except the power steering cooler as i cant find any for sell on ebay and what not. Ive asked the question here before but no one has ever been able to offer me a chance to buy one. So if someone out there is wanting to sell even a rusty old ps cooler ill take it.

Hi all, I have just installed a haltech platinum plug play ECU and seems to be having issues with it turning on after checking relays and fuses I can see that when the car is in the on position pin 3 on the eccs relay is showing 5v so I replaced the relay with a new one and still same issue, however when I remove the relay and jump the relay connection therefore giving it direct 12v at pin 3 the ecu turns on and it all works like normal. Therefore if it's not the relay what could be causing the 5v at pin 3 instead of 12v I am running no MAF if that makes any difference and the car is a 1991 Any help will be much appreciated

Hi all, I have an aftermarket fob which the previous owner had programmed along with just one key. I would like to have a spare fob and/or get a spare key made, I have tried high street key cutters with no joy. I would be grateful if you could recommend someone where I could get a spare fob programmed and also a spare key cut.

Hi all, one of the big jobs I wanted to tackle this spring was at last to get the aircon upgraded to modern spec. I believe it currently runs R12? I was hoping a conversation was available to upgrade but the garage has told me there is nothing available to upgrade the system and had basically told me to forget about the aircon on it . ? Has anyone on here recently upgraded their aircon successfully and if so could you advise what was required? Thanks again for any advice, always much appreciated. Thomas

hi guys as I need to get brake pipes replaced in the coming weeks, I've decided I need to also replace the rubber Flexi hoses as these are starting to go hard, I think they are the originals. are these braided hoses the correct ones? I see 2 different types listed for the zed, but I'm not sure if there are the right ones

Before anyone asks why the reason is because I want to and because I'm dumb. I have 2 turbos from a mclaren that I wish to top mount. Does anyone know how the NA after market manifolds fit if they are mounted upside down and point towards the front? My aim is to remove as much of piping from the intake side as possible. I will be removing the ac and power stearing to do this as it's not required where I live and I have a plan for power steering. My main question is does anyone have tubular na manifolds that they can put on upside down so I can see where they end up roughly?

  12. From the guys that brought us the lovely "300ZX vs Supra vs RX7" video (here) this is their latest road trip up the North American pacific coast from San Francisco to Seattle in a 300ZX and 928. Stunning coastal scenery and roads along with gorgeous film work. A road trip in a 300ZX to remember! Watch in full screen.

  13. Currently up for auction in the US with bidding now at $26,000 with 5 days to run a highly modified and clean example. Normally modified cars don't do so well in these auctions but this one is making good progress so far with the bids. Worth checking out the engine's performance figures in the listing. For the power the stock brakes look a bit underwhelming! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-84/

hi guys just had a brake pipe let go, the fluid is leaking at the rear of the floor pan on the drivers side, isn't this where the the pipes junction from the abs unit? not had chance to drop the cover off yet to investigate it.

Going to be pulling my plenum very soon so that I can sort the valve cover leak. Whilst it's off I'll be doing the usual deletes and stuff and figure I'll paint the thing whilst I'm at it. I've no interest in polishing it smooth or anything. I plan to clean it thoroughly and paint it leaving all the casting marks as they are. I'm also not interested in powder coating. Looking for inspiration for colour for it and the balance bar. I'm currently at silver for the plenum and black for the balance bar for a close to stock look. But I'm open to ideas.

OMG !! Did you guys watch the performances at the Super Bowl? It was an amazing experience while watching all of your favorite singers on the same stage and jamming together. It was a wonderful performance from all of them and I wish I would be there in the crowd so I could feel that vibe. Well, maybe next year I'll join the crowd but for now, I really want to buy a black eminem super bowl jacket at any cost. I loved this Eminem jacket and I really wanna buy it. Kindly suggest me from where I can find it and order it.

Came across this lovely example (now sold) at Tomini Classics in Dubai. What caught my eye apart from the superb condition of this car was the big brake kit fitted under the stock front wheels. I've seen cars with the stock calipers moved out with larger disks under stock wheels but this looks to be a BBK with much larger calipers and two piece brake discs. Very nicely done. Right click on images in link for nice hires. https://www.tominiclassics.com/featcar/nissan-300zx-twin-turbo/

I have noticed a hard-line that runs behind the tank and parallel to the rear bumper and loops back that seems to connect to the rear diff cooler. These are very rotten at a point on my Z. Can anyone advise on what the purpose is of these and whether I can just bypass the rotten looping hard-line? I don't have great access under the car in my garage so I cannot trace all the diff lines easily. I'm also finding UK spec specific diagrams, etc the usual challenge too! The looping hardline in question: Rotten: Can I safely bypass here:

Anyone know what this switch is. Its connected to an aftermarket box fixed to the removable panel below the steering wheel, thought the box was an aftermarket alarm at first.
